I’ve watched “Star VS The Forces of Evil” episodes 1-2 season 4. (Spoilers!) Star now can-do magic without her wand. I somehow missed that part in the previous episode… I remember her giving the Wand to Eclipsa, though. Queen Moon is still missing and the whole two episodes are about how Star, Marco and King River are looking for her all over the kingdom (the queen of which is now Eclipsa, who ended Monster discrimination, rebuild the castle and the city, nurses Meteora and tries to free her husband from the crystal). Once they see a monster in queen Moon merch, who says to them that they can see her on Pie Festival. The king warns Star that pie-folks are mischievous and not to be trusted, Marco, however, takes the pie and they all watch a play, making fun (badly, the worst king of slapstick) of Star and River and praising the queen (the actor looks very much like the original queen, but isn’t she). Later, in the castle Star finds out that the pie Marco took is made the style only her mother makes them. In the second episode, they go to the Pie-island to find the queen and after almost falling for some pie-folks schemes they decide to leave, but then smell Moon’s perfume in the smoke of a volcano, they fly there and find a bakery (inside the volcano) where Moon bakes pies. They fight other baker and the king of the pie island, but the queen doesn’t remember anything, so, returns to the oven. Then Star starts singing with her and Moon decides to leave with her family. Before they fly, the pie-king says that Festivia – Moon’s ancestor was of a pie-folk, which means that she and Star are also partly pie-folk. Interesting episodes (which I’ve watched for the first time!), includes another racism/nationalism metaphor (well, not even a metaphor, just in your face racism discussion).
