What I Think Might Happen If Certain Characters Were To Wield The Phantom Lantern Ring
Ok. Here I’ll be going over my thoughts on what might happen if certain characters were to wield the Phantom Lantern Ring which is powered by and harnesses the wielder’s different emotions. Also, Spoiler Alert for the Elena Of Avalor TV series, the Sofia The First TV series, the DuckTales (2017) TV series, the Big City Greens TV series, The Hunchback Of Notre Dame movie, The Incredibles Jack-Jack Attack short, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2012) TV series, The Great Mouse Detective movie, the Chip ‘N Dale Rescue Rangers TV series and Green Lantern comics. Also, for those of you who don’t know, as shown in DC Rebirth Green Lanterns #12, the Phantom Lantern Ring harnesses the wielder’s most prominent different emotions that they are feeling at a given moment and can amplify those emotions to the point that they can even drive the wielder mad with those emotions with willpower being the only exception to all this to the point that the wielder still has full control over themselves while harnessing only willpower and, as shown in DC Rebirth Green Lanterns #57, the Phantom Lantern Ring can harness multiple colors of the Emotional Spectrum at the same time which means it can harness multiple emotions at the same time. With that out of the way, let’s dive right in.
For Esteban Flores, I think that the Phantom Lantern Ring would harness his willpower, fear, compassion and love. After all, as already mentioned, the Phantom Lantern Ring can harness multiple emotions from the Emotional Spectrum at the same time. And, as shown in the episode ‘King Of The Carnaval’ he seems to have a lot of capacity for willpower deep down since he, at least for a brief moment, was willing to let Victor expose his secret of having helped Shuriki take over Avalor and causing the deaths of his uncle and aunt to his cousin Elena, seems to feel a lot of fear of his secret coming out to the point that he went along with Elena’s belief that Victor was just lying when he said that Esteban helped Shuriki, seemed to feel a lot of compassion to the point that he felt a lot of remorse for stealing the royal jewels to protect his secret and held a strong familial love for his cousin Elena to the point that he was quite touched by Elena’s gratitude for him supposedly taking the royal jewels to give to his family for the carnaval. So, there could come a time when Esteban feels willpower, fear, compassion and love at the same time which might give the Phantom Lantern Ring the perfect opportunity to harness all 4 of those emotions from him at the same time. However, since, as already mentioned, the Phantom Lantern Ring amplifies the emotions that the wielder is already feeling to the point that they could drive the wielder mad with those emotions with willpower being the only exception to this to the point that the wielder still has full control over themselves if they harness only willpower, the Phantom Lantern Ring might drive Esteban mad with fear, compassion and love given how strong his fear, compassion and love already were and even more so given the number of emotions other than willpower it would be harnessing from him. But since the Phantom Lantern Ring wielder still has full control over themselves while harnessing only willpower and willpower is probably one of the emotions that the Phantom Lantern Ring might harness from Esteban, this might allow Esteban to still at least partially have control over himself while wielding the Phantom Lantern Ring since, as shown in Justice League Vol 2 #50, putting on a Green Lantern Ring which is powered by willpower seems to help the wielder break free of mind influences to the point that it helped free Bruce Wayne AKA Batman from the Mobius Chair. So, while it probably wouldn’t work quite as well for the Phantom Lantern Ring since all the emotions that it would be harnessing would, as shown in DC Rebirth Green Lanterns #12, also be harnessing the power of the Emotional Spectrum just like Green Lantern Rings, it would probably still allow Esteban to still feel willpower to the same intensity as he would feel compassion, love and fear even after those 3 emotions are amplified by the Phantom Lantern Ring which would probably make it so that at least some of Esteban’s sanity remains intact. However, the madness might still take a lot of effort for Esteban to keep at bay and even more so considering that the Phantom Lantern Ring would be amplifying 3 of Esteban’s emotions instead of 1.
For Cedric The Sensational, I think that the Phantom Lantern Ring might harness his hope, love, compassion, fear and greed. After all, since, as shown in the episode ‘Cedric’s Apprentice’, Cedric has become quite hopeful and happy thanks to Sofia believing in him, seems to feel a lot of platonic love for Sofia, was quite compassionate towards Sofia to the point that he got worried about her when she got turned into a lizard and then used a magic spell to turn her back to normal, can be quite anxious and afraid when it comes to his magic spells not working the way they are supposed to and was greedy to the point that he wanted to take over the kingdom of Enchancia. So, there could come a time when Cedric feels all 5 of those emotions at the same time. And, since, as already mentioned, the Phantom Lantern Ring amplifies the emotions that the wielder is already feeling to the point that it could drive the wielder mad with those emotions with willpower being the only exception to this and the Phantom Lantern Ring can harness multiple emotions from the Emotional Spectrum at the same time, Cedric might get driven mad with hope, love, compassion, fear and greed how strong his emotions already were and the resulting madness would probably be worse for Cedric given that it would be harnessing 5 emotions from him instead of 1.
For the version of Donald Duck from the DuckTales (2017) TV series, I think that the Phantom Lantern Ring might harness his rage, love and willpower. After all, as stated and shown in the episode ‘What Ever Happened To Donald Duck?!’, Donald has a lot of rage that he uses to protect his family that he loves which also means that he has a lot of love in his heart too and, as stated and shown in the episode ‘The House Of The Lucky Gander!’, he kept on going no matter how badly he went down which would take a lot of willpower. So, there could come a time when this Donald Duck prominently feels all 3 of those emotions at the same time. And, since, as already mentioned, the Phantom Lantern Ring amplifies the wielder’s emotions to the point that they could drive the wielder mad with willpower being the only exception to this to the point that the wielder still has full control over themselves while harnessing only willpower, this Donald Duck would partially get driven mad with love and rage given how strong his rage and love already are but would still have at least some control over himself since he would not only be harnessing rage and love but also willpower too and, as also already mentioned, putting on a Green Lantern Ring which is powered by willpower did seem to help Bruce Wayne AKA Batman break free from the Mobius Chair’s influence. It will probably only allow Donald to partially retain control over himself since, as already mentioned, all the emotions that the Phantom Lantern Ring would be harnessing would also be harnessing the power of the Emotional Spectrum but still.
For Chip Whistler, I think that the Phantom Lantern Ring would harness his rage, greed and, surprisingly, his willpower. After all, as shown in the episode ‘Reckoning Ball’, it seemed like he was quite greedy to the point that he relished promotion to CEO of Wholesome Foods only for his own personal gain and, as shown in the episode ‘Evil Family’, he wanted revenge against the Green family and, through sheer force of will, managed to keep on going in his fight against Vasquez no matter how hard Vasquez hit him to the point that he tired Vasquez out. This means that there could come a time when Chip prominently feels all 3 of those emotions at the same time. So, since, as already mentioned, the Phantom Lantern Ring amplifies its wielder’s emotions to the point that they could drive them mad with willpower being the only exception to this to the point that the wielder still has full control over themselves while harnessing only willpower, Chip might partially get driven mad with rage and greed given how strong his rage and avarice already are but might retain at least some control over himself due to him harnessing his willpower and also because, as also already mentioned, wearing a Green Lantern Ring seemed to help Bruce Wayne AKA Batman build up enough willpower break free from the Mobius Chair.
For Kari McKeen, I think that the Phantom Lantern Ring would harness her willpower and fear. After all, as shown in the The Incredibles Jack-Jack Attack short, Kari was incredibly stressed and frazzled when it came to Jack-Jack’s superpowers which would mean that she was incredibly scared but, at the same time, Kari put up enough willpower to continue babysitting Jack-Jack to the point that she even was able to use everyday objects to adapt to at least a couple of Jack-Jack’s powers before her memories of the whole thing were erased. So, Kari would be prominently feeling willpower and fear at the same time which would give the Phantom Lantern Ring the perfect opportunity to harness both her willpower and her fear at the same time if Kari were to put it on before her memories were erased. But, since, as already mentioned, the Phantom Lantern Ring amplifies its wielder’s emotions to the point that they drive them mad with those emotions with willpower being the only exception to this to the point that the wielder retains full control over themselves while harnessing only willpower, Kari might partially get driven mad with fear given how stressed she already was by Jack-Jack’s powers but still retain at least some control over herself. That being said, though, since, as already mentioned, wearing a Green Lantern Ring which is also powered by willpower seemed to allow Bruce Wayne AKA Batman to build up enough willpower to break free from the Mobius Chair, it might allow Kira to at least partially retain control of herself but only partially since, as also already mentioned, all the other emotions that the Phantom Lantern Ring would be harnessing, including fear would be harnessing the power of the Emotional Soectrum just like willpower. And having only one emotion trying to drive her mad would probably allow Kira’s willpower to hold out for longer than any of the other characters listed on this post. However, since fear more or less runs directly counter to willpower since fear is about causing someone to be unwilling to do something whereas willpower is about allowing someone to be willing to do something, while Kira’s willpower would hold out longer, it would probably put more strain on her mind in the long run. It’s kinda like if a running athlete somehow kept on running despite the strain already being too much for their body to handle. It would be incredibly impressive but also incredibly unhealthy to the point that the strain would eventually catch up to them and in probably much greater force since it has been building over time.
For Judge Claude Frollo, I think that the Phantom Lantern Ring would harness his greed and fear. As shown in Green Lantern Vol 4 #42, the Orange Light Of Avarice not only causes the wielder to feel more avarice but also makes them feel hungrier too to the point that they feel like they are starving which means that it wouldn’t be a stretch if the Orange Light Of Avarice can go for a person who wants someone rather than something. And, as shown in The Hunchback Of Notre Dame movie, Claude Frollo had a strong greedy desire to have Esmeralda for himself and he was in denial to the point that he blamed Esmeralda for his desire for her which probably means he was that afraid of the truth about it only being his own desire. This all means that Claude Frollo could be prominently feeling both of those emotions at the same time. So, the Phantom Lantern Ring might drive Judge Claude Frollo mad with greed and fear given how strong his avarice and fear already are.
For the version of Oroku Saki AKA Shredder from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turles (2012) TV series, I think that the Phantom Lantern Ring would harness his rage and, surprisingly, his fear. After all, as the YouTuber BATWOLF ENTERPRISES pointed out in their WHICH LANTERN CORPS WOULD TMNT CHARACTERS BE IN PART 2 YouTube video, Oroku Saki had a lot of rage and a strong desire for revenge in him and thus would make a good candidate for a Red Lantern Ring. And Red Lantern Rings are, as shown in Green Lantern Vol 4 #38, powered by rage. Oroku Saki’s desire for revenge was also shown in the episode ‘Earth’s Last Stand’ where Oroku Saki wanted revenge on Hamato Yoshi AKA Master Splinter to the point that he was willing to let Earth get destroyed to kill him before Oroku Saki was defeated for the time being. And, as stated and shown in the episode ‘The Super Shredder’, Oroku Saki is incredibly dishonest with himself to the point that he tells himself that Hamato Yoshi was to blame for Tang Shen’s death even though it was actually Oroku Saki himself and he also tells himself that he did what he did for Karai even though he did it only for himself which probably means he whimpers in fear of the truth. This means that Oroku Saki AKA The Shredder could be prominently feeling both of those emotions at the same time. So, the Phantom Lantern Ring would probably drive him mad with rage and fear given how strong his rage and fear already were.
As for Basil, I think that the Phantom Lantern Ring would harness his willpower, compassion and greed. After all, as shown in The Great Mouse Detective movie, Basil was incredibly determined to defeat Professor Ratigan which would mean Basil has a large amount of willpower, seems to have grown to deeply care about Olivia Flaversham to the point that he risked his life to save her which would mean that Basil has a large amount of compassion and had an incredible desire to prove that he can defeat Ratigan which would mean that he has a large amount of greed to be better than Ratigan and the Phantom Lantern Ring would probably go for greed like that given that the Orange Light Of Avarice seems to ironically be powered by all forms of greed rather than only avarice since, as already mentioned, the Orange Light Of Avarice not only makes a person feel more avarice but also makes them feel hungrier too to the point that they feel like they are starving which means that it wouldn’t be a stretch if the Orange Light Of Avarice can go for someone who wants to be better than someone else rather than want to have something. So, considering all this, there could come a time when Basil prominently feels all 3 of those emotions at the same time. And considering that, as already mentioned, willpower is the only exception to the Phantom Lantern Ring driving the wielder mad with the emotion they are harnessing to the point that the wielder still has full control over themselves while harnessing only willpower and that, as also already mentioned, wearing a Green Lantern Ring which is also powered by willpower seemed to allow Bruce Wayne AKA Batman build up enough willpower to break free from the Mobius Chair, Basil would at least have partial control over himself while harnessing willpower as well as compassion and greed with the Phantom Lantern Ring. Also, given that, as shown in Blackest Night #6, Indigo Lantern Rings can change size and shrink to fit the wielder, the Phantom Lantern Ring and all other types of Lantern Rings for that matter could probably do the same thing which means it might be able to fit Basil’s finger without any problems.
For Gadget Hackwrench, I think that the Phantom Lantern Ring would harness her willpower, hope and fear. After all, as stated in the episode ‘Shell Shocked’, Gadget at least usually doesn’t resort to shrill emotional outbursts in times of danger which probably means that she has a lot of willpower when it comes to keeping her emotions in check. As shown in the episode ‘The Case Of The Cola Cult’, Gadget can be quite easygoing and hopeful even after her machine falls apart which means that she has a lot of hope when it comes to her machines. As shown in the episode ‘Rangers To The Rescue Pt. 03’, Gadget was quite afraid she won’t be able to live up to her father and, as also shown in the episode ‘The Case Of The Cola Cult’, she did fall to fear and despair when she believed that she was losing her touch when it came to making machines which would all mean that Gadget has a strong fear when it comes to failure. This means that there could come a time when Gadget prominently feels all 3 of those emotions at the same time. Considering that, as already mentioned, willpower is the only exception to the Phantom Lantern Ring driving the wielder mad with the emotion they are harnessing to the point that they still have full control over themselves while harnessing only willpower and also that, as also already mentioned, wearing a Green Lantern Ring which is also powered by willpower seemed to allow Bruce Wayne AKA Batman break free from the Mobius Chair, Gadget would still have at least partial control over herself while harnessing willpower as well as hope and fear with the Phantom Lantern Ring. Also, given that, as already mentioned, Indigo Lantern Rings can shrink to fit the wielder which probably means that all other types of Lantern Rings could do the same thing, the Phantom Lantern Ring could probably shrink to fit Gadget’s finger without any problems.
Well, that’s all for this post.
