I was going to post the SATIM strip this weekend, but I still need a few things to finish it - and it's so hot that even my old method with tissues doesn't work... I don't want to melt the paper on which the strip is drawn, and I'm sweating terribly. Instead, I found a scanned old strip about the confrontation of my favourite couples - "Samdy Kids" Sammy and Bendy versus "Cult of the Wrath" Sozo and Helob. Enjoy!

I don't do anything else with it. The colours would look better shaded, but then they would stand out even more from the last two frames, so I leave it like that. The strip has the structure of SATIM strips, so it gets the proud title of "special". And I made it in the last minutes of Pride Month in Poland! I'm proud of myself!

The Alphabet of Love: K is for King Sozo

Well, Sozo is a wreck, probably even more so in my story than in the game, where (spoiler) it turns out that before the fungus poisoned him, he was a scientist. But I love him anyway!

Yes, yes, I know, the demisexual flag looks like this, but I couldn't keep the shape 'cause the letters would be invisible, so I just kept the colours. Sozo is demisexual (thank you @camilathebreadbox for making me aware of this) - he loves and (later in the plot) lusts only Helob, and an identical-looking person who was not Helob would not activate him in any way.

What is your dreamed partner? Does it coincide with your specie or rather with the specie of the other? :3

You didn't specify who should answer, so I chose Helob, 'cause his answer is more interesting :]

As I mentioned once, for Helob, as for all spiders, the ideal of beauty is round - like Lady Moon. So Helob's dreamed partner should be rather round.

Therefore, it is very strange that Helob likes in special way his good and kind king Sozo, who is not round. He's tall and slender, yes, ants are slender, not round at all, no, no… Helob even had a strange dream about his king, but… it's weird, really, really weird… I wonder why…

Who would have thought that a male of another species could look like a female spider from behind?

Oh, poor old Helob… he'll have "voracious" dreams again and he'll wake up puffed up and with his front "stinger" ready to attack X"D

I've never drawn this type of art before, 'cause I believe that sexuality and everything related to it is an individual matter and I don't like publicizing and hype around this type of issues (the same as around issues of nationality, skin colour, gender, etc. - to damn, we are all defined by one word: human, and that should be the only thing that matters). But lying in bed sick and looking through the pictures on tumblr and deviantArt, I suddenly felt a strange longing and a desire to take an active part at least once… So in addition to that there will be six more pictures from the series working called "Cult of the Pride". I colour it fast, so you can expect more soon…

As for Helob, the matter is simple. In the chapters I wrote last days, it is clearly shown that he is homosexual. As for Sozo though... I have some doubts. I don't know if I would describe his sexuality as gay, 'cause it's not that he likes male in general. To be honest, before meeting Helob, I'd rather bet that he is asexual. On the other hand, if Helob wasn't a male, but a female - she would still be attractive to Sozo. That's why I would rather say that Sozo is Helobo-sexual and let's stick to it :) As for the Mushroom (let's not forget it's a separate entity), from the moment they're damaged, I think they can be described as genderless, asexual, panromantic. They really like Helob and his relationship with their host Sozo.

"I envy you, my friend… King Sozo… always a prisoner. Always a slave… yes, a slave of customs, a slave of his subjects, a slave of his own addictions… always, always…" He grew sad, and Helob felt his heart clench as he saw that beautiful face so sad, so distressed. Sozo covered his face, leaning forward a little. "What have I done with my life…" It was an impulse. The decision was made faster than Helob was able to consider it. King Sozo was amazed when he suddenly felt the hands grab him, then lift him up. He blinked in surprise. "What… what are you actually doing?" "I'm kidnapping the king," Helob replied calmly, adjusting his grip. His three pairs of arms held Sozo tightly, but also gently, huddled like in a cradle. Sozo was speechless. He wasn't sure which surprised him more about this situation. That he was kidnapped or that he liked it.

I just had a breakfast break in work and decided to make illustrations for one of my favourite scenes with these two cute idiots. The scene (and quote) is from second chapter featuring these characters together titled "The Ant and the Spider".
