She allows herself one heavy exhale - allows her eyes one second to water, before she gets herself back together and grabs the ointment. She's not here to dwell on could-have-been. She's not here to pry into Eugene's life without her. She's here for Eugene, and him only, because he is hurt and she's his nearly-a-doctor friend that can make it a bit easier for him.
