I did a proposal on this subject (parasocial relationships) in one of my last psychology courses during my undergrad. It’s kind of along the same lines of what you’re saying. I looked into how millennials especially feel entitlement/intimacy with celebrities in the same age bracket. It’s an interesting topic that’s actually being studied more with the rise of social media!
