5. How did you choose their name and why? Was it simply based on vibes or is there any specific meaning behind the name? Are the reasons behind their name different in- and out of universe?
So first, out-of-universe lore. One of the first things I picked about Bren was his name! Parts of his story are inspired by Brendon Urie of Panic! at the Disco, so I wanted to call that out by naming my Bren after Brendon Urie himself! His last name, Gallagher, came afterward, based on the origins of the name Brendon (old Irish). In-universe, though, Bren was named by his very Irish mother. She thought her baby was royalty (and she was right to think so ;P) so she named him Brendon, with the meaning 'prince' or 'king'.
16. Is there any memes or running jokes associated with the character, both in- and out of universe?
Nyx (@eldritch-goth) and I have a number of things we say about this pretentious little fuck, including: "wet cat of a man", "damp kitten", "dunk him in the trash", and of course, "give him a swirly". We like to bully him a lot. XD This is mostly bc you absolutely cannot bully him in person, he WILL cry and then his buddy Lovelace will come beat you up. :) ...apparently he's attached to Bren now.
19. What is your general favourite thing about the character? What is your least favourite?
Omg this is so hard to choose... I guess if I had to pick something, my favorite thing is how love-starved he is. I desperately adore an affection-starved boy, apparently. Here's hoping his friends help him realize he is actually very loved. <3 As for least favorite, I gotta go with his blind trust/refusal to ask questions in situations where he really should. Even as the writer, knowing I have the choice to make him do the thing, I can't. It's just not him. He has such blind faith in the world and what he can see. He just can't fathom that there are things under the surface, and worse, those things might be trouble for him. :)

Once upon a time, there was a big, bad wolf…
Kane returned to consciousness slowly. His arms ached and his head was pounding, but the most noticeable thing in the room, the thing that brought him back, was a smell. The smell of a ragged, dirty dog, or, perhaps…a wolf.
The drow groaned, shaking his head to rid himself of the thought. Harley was dead, he’d been dead for many years now, and the only other werewolves Kane knew were his friends. There was no reason to believe that Harley was here, but still…the smell…
“Are you sure you’re making it up, Mr. Foster?”
Kane flinched away from the sudden voice, his thoughts now racing. Harley? Here? No, no, I killed him, I killed him…
“Mr. Fosterrr~” The voice called to him again, sing-songy and honey sweet. “At least look at me when I’m talking to you.”
Still, Kane resisted the urge to look, until he felt rough, calloused fingertips beneath his chin. The stranger’s hand forced Kane’s head upward until his eyes landed on the other’s face. There was no denying it after that.

Whumpmas in July #2: Top Three Whump Tropes
What are your top three favorite whump tropes?
Gags No, seriously, just gags. Dildo gags are my favorite, but duct tape used to hold the top spot for a while. Idc how they're being used, but if a whumpee gets gagged, I am immediately hooked on the scene.
Kidnappings This is really broad, yeah, but I've yet to see a whump-themed kidnapping story that I haven't liked. Something about the helplessness just triggers those whumperflies like you wouldn't believe.
Used as bait What's better than kidnapping one whumpee? Kidnapping two! >3 And the first knowing what's coming but not being able to warn the other in time? OOF. That's good.

Never Saw It Coming (WoW Birthday Whump Event Day 1: Kidnapping, Bound & Gagged, "I have your loved one")
my favorite whump things to write are kidnapping/captures & the following rescue (or lack thereof), humiliation, begging, used as bait scenarios, caretaker comforts, human or nonhuman whumpees and whumpers, pet whump, dub-to-noncon, and institutionalized slavery...but honestly that's just what i can remember offhand - I'll write almost anything and I'll read about the same! (i also draw, though I don't often draw whump...though that's slowly changing lol)
i have a bunch of stories in progress and a mountain of OCs (over 200, most of which have stories even if they don't have visual designs) and I will jump from muse to muse as i see fit XD but always hmu if you wanna see something of a particular character (like sequels to previous pieces or new prompts, whatever!).
i refer to my main story as "the multiverse" and it is the thing I work on with nyx. most every idea i have is passed by them first before i work it into a fic bc most of them have to do with nyx's characters or the worlds they've built. ^^ there are also a ton of AUs for it which will randomly show up in fics when I get the vibe. i also roleplay on discord, though i don't have any current whump partners 🤔

1: What is the crackiest* thing you’ve ever written? (*I mean this with great affection)
AHA, YOU THOUGHT IT WOULD BE A SUPERNATURAL THING, BUT IT IS NOT! It's Naruto. I was like, 14. XD I had a self-insert OC by the name of Neko (who, yes, inspired the current day OC named Neko that I have) and I desperately wanted to pair her with my favorite Naruto characters back in the day (that being Naruto and Kiba). I plotted an entire adventure for them just so they'd have the chance to meet/fall in love. XD The fic was entitled The Four Masks of Destiny. I might steal the plot some day for something a little more my current speed, but that's the only salvageable part of that fic I think. XD
8: Tell us your shortest and longest titles of all time.
I think my longest is probably: They Swear They're Alive But Just Look In Their Eyes (song lyrics inspired/partially taken from Backbreaker by Hit the Lights) It was an art trade long ago but the lyrics fit so well that it still sticks out in my memory! As for the shortest, probably: Chase Also an art trade, one of the first writing trades I ever did. Gonna give an honorable mention to Blood and Petals, though. That's my favorite of like, all titles I've given anything. If only I would finish the fic. XD
18: If you have noticed themes emerging in your writing, what are they? What broad themes and topics do you enjoy exploring?
Somehow, this is an easy one! My favorite themes/topics when I'm writing are growing through the traumas of life, around it, rather than just getting over it. There also tend to be a lot of reflections of my own anxieties taken out on my OCs and favorite characters lmao. One other big theme/topic I obsess over and have to mention, though, is the building of relationships. Any kind of relationship, friends, family, lovers, haters, abusers, enablers, etc. I like to write how they happen and, in some cases, how one recovers from those relationships.

These two ABSOLUTELY grow together. They become fully intertwined by the end of their story (wherever that ends up being) and, in truth, were twisted up in each other almost as long as they've been alive. A childhood best-friendship can be a messy, complicated, and even ugly thing, but for Gage and Ghoste, it's a thing of beauty. It's watching tree branches grow into each other until the connection is as solid as the ground below. In short, they make each other better for having known each other. Ghoste pushes Gage out of his comfort zone and allows him the room to break down when he needs it, while Gage provides Ghoste with the genuine safety they've always desired out of a close relationship.
Brendon "Bren" (TH Profile) 🧡Orange: How does your OC feel about Halloween?
Once upon a time, Bren thought Halloween was a thing of fascination. Being something else, something other than what you were, was a mind-blowing concept. He could be anyone, be any thing, and nothing but his own imagination could stop him. Nowadays, though, he's not as fond of it. He's forgotten the magic of Halloween and wonders why anyone would want to be anything other than what they are: alive.
💛 What is your OC's happiest memory?
Bren's happiest memory is the day he met Galaxy, hands down. They ran into each other purely by chance, but meeting one of the biggest, if not THE biggest, of his idols, was literally life-changing for Bren...in more ways than one.
💜 Does your OC have an archenemy/personal villain?
"Dylan Lovelace is a talentless son-of-a-bitch." - Bren at some point, probably At any rate, yes. Lovelace is the drummer of a band that rivals with Bren's, and the two do not get along. Their rivalry started at Warped Tour in '97 when Love expressed concern about Bren's budding relationship with the one-and-only Sebastian Galaxy, and uh...Bren didn't take Love's concern too well. Lovelace has not forgotten the insults flung at him that day.
