I just got literally banned from the alterhuman community for saying this so LET'S SAY IT LOUDER HERE!!!

Terminology changes and adapts. Sometimes, it comes from not-so-pleasant places. Sometimes, it gets reclaimed. That doesn't fucking change whether or not it is currently used.

So let's go over this!

Fun fact: "kin" and "kinning" are often used as shorthand, this is rather common, and controlling other peoples' language is a shit thing to do!

"I kin xyz", "I'm kin with xyz", and "I'm xyz kin" are ALL very often shorthand for "I am otherkin/fictionkin and my kintype is xyz".

"I'm kinning xyz" is often shorthand for "I'm kinfirming xyz"

"my kins" is often shorthand for "my kintypes".

"I've kinned xyz for years" is often shorthand for "It's been years since I began being aware of my xyz kintype".

"kinning" IS OFTEN SHORTHAND FOR "the act of being otherkin/fictionkin" !!!!!!

And if your argument is that this'll make other people think we're "crazy"? Surprise, anti-otherkin ALREADY THINK THAT. We're a DID system, we're already what they think is "crazy". We've been with the otherkin community for 10 years now and the amount of people trying to control others after the KFF boom is DISGUSTING. Get a fucking grip. We are the ones the sanists hate. Self-flagellating at their doorstep won't make them respect us.

The fact that many people write this off as "oh well you might be treated differently in the community" is outrageous. Treating anyone as "less real" because of their terminology is horrible. Get a grip, leave behind your paranoia about KFFs, and stop judging others' validity based on what terms they're used to.

This is NOT for someone who kins a system

Term not coined by me, this is just a redesign of the flag.

Color meanings:

Green - Otherkinity and otherkin experiences

Blue - The blur between otherkinity and plurality

Purple - Plurality and plural experience

The ring in the middle represents finding otherkinity in plurality & finding plurality in otherkinity (like yin and yang . if that makes sense)

Anyway yeah apparently this is a thing. and it describes my experiences PERFECTLY.

"Kinself" - Alterhuman Coining

In kin systems and/or kingenic plurality, the line can get blurry between what is a kintype, kin shift, and what is a system member. Kinform is a word currently used to describe an introject of a kintype. However, the separation isn't always so distinct during kin shifts.

"Kinself" is a word to bridge that gap. This is a term for any otherkin/etc shift that is intense enough for there to be a feeling of identity separation from ones' unshifted self. It may happen once or may be reoccurring, but the most important differentiating factor is that they're ephemeral in nature. While a kinform (median facet or not) is a consistently solid & recognizable system member, a kinself will experience temporary separation during the duration of their experience. This separation may waver, be consistent, or anything else, but is always temporary in one manner or another. As the kin shift fades, so does the kinself, returning back to the otherkin person in a manner similar to integration, fusion, and other similar experiences. This experience could be one-time per kintype, or reoccurring.

Could be considered an opposite of temporary fusion.

Kinselves fall under the median/midcontinuum umbrella. There is a chance a kinself could solidify further and become a kinform headmate.

Whether people choose to consider kinselves as part of their member headcount is up to the individual(s).

How did you first know you were a system? If you don’t mind me asking ofc!

We don't mind questions! We have our asks on for a reason.

Our syscovery started with our core (Aaron) being recommended system videos on TikTok. She engaged with the system community a lot on there, and it's what introduced him to systems in general.

We eventually left TikTok, cus the community was kinda toxic, lots of anti-endos. (And there were some creeps following us). Our new/current main social media is Tumblr.

Of course, we never stopped interacting with systems. Aaron thought that systems' functions/experiences explained how it's life is. With Tumblr being a lot more inclusive, she finally realized that you don't need to fit DID/OSDD/UDD criteria to be a system.

Now, for the part they actually discovered we were a system- They noticed that their kintypes seemed to be able to communicate with her, and finally went "Hey, I might be a system"

And they started noticing more things. The unstable identity. The way they felt like 'too much' to be one person. The way his kintypes felt more like separate beings than parts of himself. The way they wouldn't feel like theirself at times.

It installed Simply Plural, 'just in case' we were a system, and started making profiles for their "hypothetical" headmates

A week-ish later, we eventually landed on the label "kinplural"

We're not quite a system, but not quite otherkin. It doesn't feel right labeling it as one or the other.

But we were really happy to find that we were plural! Still kinda getting everything together tho lol (SP profiles, intros, figuring out who is who, etc).

It's more like "I'm a twitch streamer listening to whatever my chat(alters) tells me to do"
