You're so different from her, all bright colors and soft tones, softness that contrasts her sharp facial features. Your sun meets her moon, and she wishes she could stop her gaze from drifting across the plaza to where you're giggling with your friends. So sweet, so endearing, and it's like Caitlyn's a child entranced by her first crush again.

She insists on courting you properly. She brings you gifts: daisies from a meadow she had passed on her way to meet you, chocolates from the expensive local shops, a stuffed bunny that looks remarkably like you. When you squeal and thank her profusely, a thin layer of pink coating your cheeks, Caitlyn preens a little internally. She's quite pleased at the praise, at the knowledge that she can care for someone she loves. Besides gifts, she does things properly. She walks you home, takes your hand (just to lead you through crowded streets, obviously), holds the door open.

Caitlyn is obsessed with your style. She will walk behind you purposefully to admire your short skirts swishing from behind. When you start dating, she buys you carts of clothes. Caitlyn's never been keen on shopping, but now, she's eagle-eyed for what she'd like to see you wear. Knee-high socks with lace edges, sheer tights, a dainty locket with a photo of you two inside. Passes them off with "Oh, but darling, you would look sooo pretty in them. Just try them on, please?"

Speaking of looks, she goes insane on lip glosses and lip tints. Will insist on putting them on you so she can see which ones she should buy more of, but really, it's just so she can have an excuse to cradle your face in her hands and kiss the gloss off your lips. She needs to see which ones last after all the kisses, right?

Admittedly, you're a little worried upon finding out how masc her ex (Vi) is. After all, how could she be so into you when she was just into someone that looks like the opposite of you?

Caitlyn is quick to reassure such silly thoughts, pressing kisses to each of your cheeks and soothing you in that stupidly-posh accident. "Oh no, darling, why does it matter who I've been with? Caitlyn's even more possessive than she's ever been. Something about you makes her want to bundle you in bubble wrap and stash you away in her bedroom. You slowly invade her bedroom. Strictly navy and deep purple color schemes become a lot lighter when you start spending the night. More pillows, more fluffy throw blankets, a few stuffed animals that Caitlyn won you at a carnival — it's all on Caitlyn's bed. Caitlyn doesn't mind any of it; loves it, actually. She desires to make her loved ones, especially romantic partners, feel loved and cared for. She'll go to any length to ensure that you feel like her princess (you are). After all, she's kinda obsessed with you.

Why does no one talk about Caitlyn's hot, grunge-goth ancestor??

This portrait tells us so much about her. Look behind her, she's got a longbow! She could be the start of the Kiramman sharp shooter tradition! She's also surrounded by sailboat-themed decorations, so despite looking like a depressed 90's alt rock singer she enjoyed sunshine and sailing.

I don't know if she's wearing a silk skirt over her pants or if her jacket starts as a justacorps at the shoulders and then transitions into a polkadot skirt at the waist. Either way, A+ fashion sense.

Caitlyn’s Golden Eye Without The Eye Patch

I need more art of her without the eye patch. Yes, her fucked up lost eye turned gold because I said so. Idk about you guys but she’s kinda hotter without her other eye.

She likes to remove her eye patch during combat because she’s not completely blind there (like she can still sense some form of light). Also during meetings where her authority is questioned, she takes it off to remind the room of the sacrifice she made to defend Piltover against the Noxians (like the newer version of “I am a decorated officer, leader of House Kiramman”).

Potentially, she could have cured it with HexTech or even a stabilized form of Shimmer, but she chooses not to because it serves as a reminder of her mistakes which she will atone for the rest of her life and also as a trophy of having the honor to protect Piltover (just like Grayson and her gun).

Vi also thinks she’s hot as fuck without the eye patch but Caitlyn insists on it because she’s worried she might spook some kids.

Today's theory: Caitlyn's grandmother was a pirate!

Okay, okay. Hear me out.

In the brothel scene, Vi tells Pim that Caitlyn's name is Matilda. Caitlyn then blags her way through this by going "My parents named me Matilda, after my great grandmother Matilda, the, uh. Pirate."

Obviously, that's Caitlyn just making something up on the spot, but we know that her family is originally from Ionia, which is based on southeast Asia.

Well.

It just so happens that one of the most prolific pirates of all time was Zheng Yi Sao, who was born in China. Her nickname was The Pirate Queen.

At the height of her power, she had over 400 ships in her fleet and employed around 70,000 crew members. To give you a sense of scale, Blackbeard had 5 ships with around 300 pirates in his fleet.

Now, let's go back in time through the Kiramman portraits to Caitlyn's great grandmother, seen here.

We can see her sitting on a chaise lounge. In front of her, there's a ship in a bottle. Directly behind her, there's a bow (a little nod to the fact that Kirammans have always been sharpshooters), and in the background, there's more ships.

The ships in the background are very important, because these are three mast ships, also known as barques. This type of ship was the most popular type of ship during the golden age of piracy!

So basically. What I'm saying is. Caitlyn's great grandmother was a pirate, and not only was she a pirate, she was Runeterra's version of the most successful female pirate of all time.

Tobias was crucial in Caitlyn and Vi’s post-war recovery using his surgical knowledge, and would sternly (but kindly) get upset with them when they weren’t taking care of themselves as they should. I also like to think that he helped a lot with Vi when she was in her coma after the battle in season 2 episode 6!
