i think a lot of people are retweeting/reblogging this fairly scathing judgement of a random young woman without actually watching the video and hearing what she has to say, so i did. if anyone watched beyond the first 30 seconds of the video they would realise she is arguing the same point made in this tweet: that these personality labels are not useful or equivalent to a self (in her words, “you basically just assemble an ikea version of your personality”).

i’m not going to claim to be an expert on what ‘true’ self awareness looks like but this retweet is considerably more arrogant than anything said in the actual video and creating a morally and intellectually superior version of self-awareness (introspection) in opposition to the vain woman who “thinks about herself too much” is very easy to see through.

tldr listen to a woman make her point before hanging her out to dry. and if you don’t think it’s that serious i urge you to go to the video and filter the comments by newest first. give women the same grace you give men who don’t deserve it.
