kirisali is the best companion for packing. They keep me company and keep my 3DS away from me by playing Soriku: Pets and Parkour. Thanks, m'dear. <3
✍ for Kars!
Not to try to talk through you but it was literally just used for quotation. Also, to insinuate that Mixed means you're not Black or Asian or anything in between is a Grade A way to completely erase identities
kirisali said: What is the actual problem with mixed race characters in this case when they’re not presented as “basically white” which is how it’s done nearly everywhere else? Why put mixed in quotes if mixed race people exist everywhere????
I can't speak to why Millie used quotes around mixed, but for me personally, the problem has nothing to do with the characters being mixed (you're right, mixed race people exist everywhere, and in fact like most people you meet in your day to day life are likely mixed in some way), but rather with the unwillingness to refer to the characters as PoC, or with any specific racial denominations (even if it's "that character is half-white"). This sort of across the board, generalized wipe of "no labels, it's colour blind" is really problematic to me, especially given that the show's main selling point for me (and what was giving me most hope, as a PoC) was the visible representation.
Dang hey, that's a darn beautiful header
thank uwu
Today I sampled sports animes with Kirisali and olive-the-olive! We watched: -2 episodes of Haikyuu!! (I'm biased towards this one, favorite) -1 episode of Ping Pong the animation (very intriguing, very different, and I need to see more!) -1 episode of Ookiku Furikabutte (might pursue this! DIDN'T EXPECT THAT, BRO) -3 episodes of Yowamushi Pedal (I HAD TO KNOW HOW THE RACE ENDED. Now I'm watching and waiting for Bikesuke (Bike Sasuke) and Bikeuto (Bike Naruto) to meet.) -1 episode of Kuroko no Basket (that was NOT what we expected, what an interesting premise!) -2 episodes of Inazuma Eleven (A serious WTF. We had to know if Soccer Vegeta would do something.) It was a very good day. 8D
