@kirishimma: People are allowed to have opinions. When there was perfect armour created for wonder woman that got scrapped and changed for armour that showed a hell of a lot less skin and is p impractical for fighting scenes you can understand why people are mad and upset. If the actors wearing it feel empowered then good for them, but think of the viewers, especially male ones and their thoughts towards the changed armour.
Here’s the thing tho, we actually don’t know how the Amazons are portrayed in JL yet and, most importantly, those pictures were bts photos of one group of Amazons when we know at least we’ll be seeing hundreds. Also, in the post that is floating around, WW’s costumes are broken down and they show a lot of skin too. It wasn’t exploitative then, Znyder wasn’t exploitative in BvS with Diana and I doubt it’ll be exploitative in JL bc he has a track record completely antithesis to this weird hyper violent misogynistic asshole these people vehemently dislike. That’s what’s so frustrating about this whole ~discussion. It’s painting Znyder in a negative light based entirely on jumping to conclusions. There were spank shots in WW when Amazons flipped, but suddenly Diana doing the same in sexist? Legit since the trailer dropped people have been on this shit. Those bts pictures? Released months ago, but NOW it’s a problem?i’ Remember Lois in the tub in BvS. She was naked, yes, so naturally that’s sexist? Um.... no. Context is important and research is important. We do not have the former, but the latter we have in spades. Znyder is one of the most respectful to female characters/actresses out there. If you wade through the vitriol, you’ll find nothing but praise for him from his actresses. Samantha Jo recently put out a long letter saying just that.
Ultimately what matters most is what’s on the screen and what the actual actors themselves have stated. I’ve yet to see Jl so I can’t say, but the fact that the actors have come out to defend Znyder and said they felt more comfortable, felt empowered should matter more than what the ~male ones might perceive.
