**Jims POV**
He had noticed something was off for the last few days. You weren’t around as often. And when you were around you weren’t our usual self. There was something in your eyes and general demeanor that made it seem like you were hurting. He talked to the others as well, Uhura was just as worried, Spock noticed but said nothing, Scotty hadn’t noticed but became worried when the topic was brought up. And Bones suggested that you were sick. Jim wanted to talk to you about it but the last few days had been so hectic for him he never got the chance. Not until now.
Which is why he was making his way down the ships corridors towards your room. You were off your shift by now so he was hoping to catch you before you went to dinner. If you were even going too. He only saw you around at dinner once over the last few days. He began to wonder how much you had been eating. Worry bean to fill his gut again. He had grown very fond of you. The two of you were very close. Sometimes he thought you were more than friends, but he pulled himself away often, never wanted you to get hurt.
Maybe if he hadn’t pulled himself away, and instead encouraged your relationship, you would tell him what was wrong with you. Rather than hiding away in your quarters alone.
**Your POV**
The news hit you suddenly. It was the last thing you expected. I mean, you lived out in space, every ship got into battles or other dangerous situations. People died. But never people you knew. It kept you almost disconnected from death. Because it was never you or someone you loved. You were never really afraid that you would die up here. Not until now.
Your cousin, your best friend. You grew up together, you knew everything about one another. Being assigned on different ships during your missions never stopped you from finding ways to talk. He was like a brother to you.
And now he was gone.
At first you got worried when he didn’t send you any messages over the course of a day, but you tried not to worry. It happened. Sometimes either of you got too caught up in work or went on a mission. But when he didn’t send you a message or respond after a few days, you really began to worry.
But then you got a message from his Captain. The second that message reached you, you knew it was bad before you listened to it.
~Y/N L/N, I am Captain Bergard of the USS Valient. This message is a very hard one to send.... Patrick was a great officer and I can gladly say, a friend of mine. He talked of you often to me and the others on the crew. I thought of sending you a message earlier but I decided I should wait until I had news. Unfortunately, this is not the news I was hoping to inform you of....seventy-four hours ago our ship was attacked by a fleet of hostile aliens. In our retreat, there was serious damage. Patrick was down in engineering when the hostiles took fire. There was an explosion....after we escaped I found out that Patrick, among others, had been found alive but seriously injured. He was taken to the med-bay immediately, but....I’m sorry to say that though we have great medical technology, his injuries were too severe. And as of four hours ago, he died....I am sorry I have to send you this message. I have already informed his parents of the tragedy that occurred, but I wanted to send you a message myself, as I knew how close the two of you were. I do hope our paths cross in the future, I know Patrick would have liked that, and I wish you well on your mission among the Enterprise crew...Goodbye Lieutenant...and good luck.~
After you had heard the message you couldn’t process the fact that he was gone. You had so many plans, to meet after your next mission was over, to do so many things together. But now you would never get the chance.
It had been almost three days since you found out, and you knew that people noticed you had changed. But no one asked. You figured people didn’t want to bother you. You didn’t mind too much. Part of you wanted to talk about it, but the other part was too afraid. As if talking about it made it real, as if he was still alive, and the second you would say he was dead, that’s when he really would be.
So you worked, and you slept. Patrick was constantly on your mind. It broke your heart, and you weren’t sure what to do. Crying didn’t seem to help, though you did enough of it. You were surprised your eyes hadn’t completely dried up by now.
You thought of telling Jim. He and Patrick had met the day you left on your mission. They got along and Patrick often teased you, having said you and the Captain would make a good couple. Jim knew so many stories about the two of you. Maybe he could help you. But he was so busy recently, you didn’t want to add onto his troubles. When he was around you tried to put on your best work-face. To make it seem like you were okay. You didn’t think it worked, you often saw him glance at you out of the corner of his eye.
You sat at your desk, your mind not really focusing on just one thing. The thought of getting food made it’s way into your thoughts, but quickly left. You hadn’t eaten much in recent days. But you didn’t feel hungry. The last few days had been hard on your body. But as you sat at your desk, your chest felt empty. You felt hollow, as if there was nothing left in your body, as if you were just a shell.
As you stared at the wall, body still, you flinched at the sound of someone at your door. Remaining still for a moment you decided it was best to answer. It could be important. You rose slowly, not nearly as excited or curious as you used to be when someone came to see you.
**Jims POV**
Before he knew it, he was in front of your door. Taking a deep breath he pressed the button to announce his presence. Most times before the door would slide open fairly quickly, as if you immediately bounded to the door. You would always be there with a curious yet happy face, ready to greet whoever it would be at your door. The smile on your face always stuck in his memory, and it seemed to startle him every time.
But this time your door didn’t open immediately, it took a few moments before Jim wondered if you were there at all. But as soon as his doubt rose, the door slip open. For some reason it seemed to move slower, as if it could sense your lack of energy. As your face appeared it wasn’t glowing in a smile, your eyes weren’t sparkling. Your face was straight, emotionless.
“Captain” your voice came out almost monotone, a faint sense of curiosity present, as if you were unsure why he was there.
Jim was taken aback. From afar he could tell that something was off, but up close, it almost broke his heart. Your eyes were tired, your body sluggish, as if you barely had the energy to stand. Not to mention the fact that you almost never called him Captain. You hadn’t called him Captain since your relationship grew from friends, to well...whatever it was now. Not a couple, but not just friends either. But now, it was as if you were distancing yourself entirely.
“Can I come in?”
**Your POV*
He didn’t even greet you, his voice was low, cautious, and the worry on his face was evident. You nodded, moving aside for him to come in. You watched as he took a few steps in. The door slid closed and he rubbed the back of his head before turning to face you. You saw him study you and you wondered just how bad you looked.
“Do you need something Captain?”
“Yeah” he paused “I need to know what’s wrong with you” he saw the hesitation on your face so he continued “I’m sorry I haven’t come sooner, but... I know that something is off Y/n. You haven’t been around, you haven’t talked to anyone, I don’t even know if you’ve eaten. Everyone’s worried Y/n....I’m worried”
“Uh...yeah, I know, I wanted to talk to you about it but...you’ve been so busy I didn’t want to bother you”
A pained look crossed his face as he took a step closer, his arms rose up and he gently grabbed the sides of your arms as he looked into your eyes “Y/n, you know you can come to me with anything, even in the middle of the night. Please tell me what’s wrong.”
He saw a brief twist of pain cross your face before you sighed. You avoided his gaze as you began “It’s Patrick” you paused, looking up into his eyes, he could see how hurt you were “He’s dead”
Shock crossed Jim’s face “What?” He saw tears build up in your eyes “When, what happened?”
You sniffled “The Valient was attacked and he died from his injuries after an explosion in engineering”
Jim felt tightness in his chest. He knew how close the two of you were, Jim had even talked to Patrick on multiple occasions. Not knowing what to say Jim pulled you towards him.
The second you felt his arms wrap around you and his your face pressed against his chest you felt tears spring from your eyes. The pain you thought you had gotten past built up in your chest. Your hands closed in fists, the fabric of Jim’s uniform clasped in your fingers as his grip tightened around you. His hand ran over the back of your head, fingers through you hair.
“I’m so sorry Y/n I can’t imagine what you must be feeling” he paused for a moment as he pulled away, looking into your eyes again, his thumb brushed across your face, wiping away the tears “Why did you stay so silent?” his voice was gentle “Why did you grieve alone?”
You sniffed again as you pulled away from him. You walked past him and sat on your bed, he followed, his eyes watching you closely “I think...I was too afraid to acknowledge that he was gone. I didn’t want him to be dead. I don’t want him to be dead Jim” a small sob escaped your mouth as Jim immediately knelt down and wrapped his arms around you “I’m so stupid for thinking that something like this could happen to someone I love.” You said with pain filling your voice as you rested your cheek against his shoulder.
You could feel Jim sigh as he pressed his forehead to the side of your head, his voice quiet in your ear. “You’re not stupid Y/n, no one ever wants or thinks it will happen to them. And you have every right to be sad, or angry that it did.”
You breathed out wiping the tears from your eyes “I’m not angry...I’m scared”
“Why?”
“I was never afraid of dying until now.”
There was a moment of silence as Jim processed your words. Many of his crew had died during their missions and battles. But just like you, it was never anyone he was very close with. He imagined for a moment if you had died, and felt fear grip him. Pushing the thought away he ran his hand through your hair again, continuing to comfort you “I won’t let you die Y/n, not out here, not while I’m Captain.”
The certainty in his voice comforted you. Both of you knew that there was a chance he couldn’t save you if needed. But knowing that he would try his hardest lessened your fears.
You let out a small sigh leaning into him a bit further, as he tightened his grip around you “I’m sorry I didn’t come to you.”
“It’s alright...but I need you to know that you can.”
“I know I can...thank you Jim.”
He pressed a kiss to the side of your head “Anytime” after a few moments he spoke again “When was the last time you ate?”
You thought to yourself for a moment “Yesterday, I think.”
He moved to stand, grabbing your hand in his “Lets go get something to eat, and if you want, if you are ready, we can talk to the others. They’re worried too.”
Thinking for a moment you glanced over at picture of you and Patrick on your desk. Nodding you stood up, following Jim our of your quarters. As you walked down the halls you felt yourself begin to feel again. You would grieve forever for Patrick, but you could feel the pain of his death fading. And you knew that somehow he would be watching over you, and you knew that if he were here right now, he would be teasing you about Jim still holding your hand.
Au where you have your soulmates name tattooed on your body. This was originally posted to my wattpad account which is no longer active so it’s kinda old meaning it’s not my best writing but my current request list is basically Jeff Hardy and Quicksilver so I wanted some different fandoms thrown in the mix. So yeah this kinda sucks but oh whale it gives my page something new.
Growing up in a small town most people's soulmates were right around the corner. And around the same age. But you, lucky lucky you. When you were old enough to realize what soulmate meant you knew exactly who he was, not because he lived right around the corner, but because he was probably the most famous starship captain in Star Fleet.
James Tiberius Kirk.
He was a captain you were a young ensign. He was 34 you were 20. It was rare that soulmates had that big of an age differences.
You specialized in history and culture. So they put you on the Enterprise when you were 17 and you had been there ever since. The five year mission the Enterprise originally set out on turned into a 25 year mission. The team just loved what they were doing and didn't want to stop. They were also good at their job so Star Fleet let them continue.
Thankfully it was chilly on the ship so you got to wear long sleeves that covered your mark. The morning of your 20 birthday you put on a long sleeve dress and ran to find Carol and Nyota. They had become like mothers to you since yours wasn't on the ship. You found them alone in the cafeteria.
"Happy birthday (Y/N). Can we see your soulmate name now?" Both of them ran up to you asking the question at the same time.
"I'll just say the same thing I always say... you know him."
"Is it Jacob? You'd be so cute with him." Carol asked dreamy eyed. Jacob was a science assistant who was a year older than you. He was a nice guy but obviously not your soulmate.
"Umm... no. Not Jacob." You scratched at your wrist.
"So that's where it is, your wrist." Nyota grabbed your hand and pulled up your sleeve. "Oh, so that's why he only wears long sleeves."
Carol looked at your wrist and gasped. "Why hasn't he said anything? Probably didn't want to embarrass you. That's sweet. He's on the bridge with Leo and Spock. We'll get them to leave and you talk to Jim." She grabbed your hand and ran with you to the bridge Nyota following.
You walk onto the bridge and the other women went to their boyfriends pulling them away. Leo and Spock had confused looks but went with the other women. Jim looked at you and blushed, Jim Kirk blushed, and caused you to blush.
"Happy birthday (Y/N).”
"Thanks. Finally out of the teen years." You bit your lip scratching at your wrist and noticed he did the same.
"What? Oh right you're 20." This couldn't be more awkward.
"Yeah. You know your name has been a bit of problem growing up." You laugh trying to soften the mood.
"What? Why?" He looked a little shocked.
"You're 14 years older then me, you joined Star Fleet before I was in high school. Everyone knows the name Kirk means Star Fleet captain. So basically all the wives of old starship captains raised me to be the perfect wife for you. It was horrible."
"What did they teach you?"
"A whole bunch of useless shit that was probably useful back in their day 70 years ago."
"Well, sorry about that I guess. But to be honest I thought you might be dead. Until I saw your name on the crew list. Then I saw your age." And here's where it gets really awkward.
"Yeah. You know they say the soulmates with longer gaps are special. More compatible. Like everyone else is a 98% match but people like us are 99%."
"I didn't know that. I like that. We're special. So I know this is sudden and all but I've been waiting for you for 34 years." He pulls a box out of his pocket and opens it to reveal a ring. A big shiny diamond was in the middle with little diamonds on the edges.
"I've waited 20 years for you. So yes. I'll marry you." He puts the ring on your hand.
"Not like you have a choice." He smirked and kissed you. You heard gasps and broke the kiss to see the bridge crew plus Bones and Scotty.
"We get to plan a wedding!" Nyota and Carol cheered.

It was an unusual thing, feeling time passing but not being affected by it. Jim couldn’t quiet understand it, he knew time had passed but how much? Surely it had been long enough for his crew on Enterprise to noticed their absence, they should be here by now.
Looking around, he saw dozens of Sulurans, carrying rocks and tools, constantly making the cavern system bigger, building the Zakarians a bigger and better home each day, he was surprised the whole planet wasn’t hollow yet, though, maybe it was.
He started pacing his cell, the others all sitting at the other end discussing what they could do to get out, he could hear Uhura whispering. “You heard Y/n, she said that the Zakarians can’t go out in the sunlight, maybe we could use that to our advantage?”
“How exactly would be do that lass? If you canny tell, we are currently in quite the predicament.” Scotty said motioning to the cell around them.
Jim looked up, a tall stone-built staircase led higher up towards the top of the cavern, a giant laser drill sitting on top, something they must have used to carve out the large cavern. He began thinking about how he could get up their and use it, bust through the surface, get out.
“They’ve tried it before.” He turned suddenly, seeing you outside the cells, covered in dirt, he raised his brow. “The drill” You motioned your head towards the machine, seemingly having read his thoughts. “Some aliens got captured when they landed on the planet a while ago, they managed to escape and tried to make it up there, to bust through the roof, but they never made it. The Zakarians killed them before they got close, now none of them go near it, out of fear of being killed.”
Jim walked over to you, “It might be our only option.” Jim muttered, looking between you and the drill.
He looked back over at you as you stared at the drill, you were sweaty from working, your hands covered in dirt and scrapes. You looked so tired, and all he could do was feel guilt, even if he managed to free you, to take you back to Earth, being a prisoner for 200 years wouldn’t be easy to forget, what would you do, everything was so different. He looked through the bars with a sigh.
“Are you okay?” Your voice was quiet, gentle.
You had been here for 200 years, tortured, forced to watch your friends die, and you were asking if he was okay. He let out a huff of laughter, so quiet, it was unnoticed by you. “I will be, once we get out of here.”
“Do you really think you’ll be able to?”
He smiled at you, an actual smile, before looking briefly at his crew. “We’ve gotten out of worse”
You looked shocked for a second “Like what?”
He leaned against the cell bars in front of you. “I have quiet a few stories I could tell you.”
He was a little shocked when a faint smile passed over your lips. You sighed, turning your body and leaning against the bars. “Do they have happy endings?”
“Most of them.”
“Good...I like happy endings.”
A few moments of silence passed before you slid down at sat on the ground, Jim doing the same. “Are you alright?” It was his turn to ask.
“I’m the same as I always am.”
He tapped his fingers on the cell bars a couple times, thinking. “You mentioned before, that you can’t remember the sun, or the sky, what do you remember?”
You thought to yourself for a moment. “Not much.” You admitted “I try to remember the smell of rain, or the warmth of sunlight on my skin, but those memories left me a long time ago. I can remember some faces, my parents, friends, they're fuzzy, but, if I think hard enough I can remember them, but I don’t think I will be able to for much longer.”
“You know,” he began “The S’har-igen is on the surface of this planet, and inside all of your and your crews belongings are still there. We even found an old video camera that belonged to your friend Eric.”
You turned your head towards him “Really?”
He nodded.“The Zakarians must have dumped it there, leaving it behind. You can have all of it once we get you out of here.”
You pressed your forehead against the cell bars, a smile forming on your face. “Eric loved that stupid camera. He was so excited about making it here, about coming to the new planet, he would talk nonstop about it.” You paused, looking down at your hands, your smile fading into a frown. “Their voices are what I forgot first. Erics, my moms voice, my dads laugh.” You sighed, turning away from him again, unaware that the rest of the crew was listening to you as well. “For a long time, the only thing keeping me from giving up was the fact that I just might hear their voices again. That I could go home, eat my mothers homemade meals, see my family, my friends, my pets...but, it’s been so long, they’ve been gone so long, now I’ll never get the chance. I can’t tell them that I’m okay, and now I can never say goodbye.”
After a moment of silence you cleared your throat. “Sorry, I should keep this kind of stuff to myself.”
“No.” Jim said “You shouldn’t, it’s alright.”
You sat there for a moment, not sure what to say, Jim was the first person you could talk to about Earth, the first person you could ask questions to. The questions that you had been wondering about for so long, but you were so afraid to ask, fearing what his answers would be. A gruff voice from nearby distracted you, breaking you from your thoughts.
“Y/n!” a Zakarian said walking towards you “Drakis needs to see you”
“Why?” Jim asked standing up
He leaned forward pulling you roughly towards him. “None of your business human!” He spat out before dragging you off.
The others stood, watching as you were lead away, worry filling their guts.
- - -
The Zakarian pushed you roughly into the room, Drakis standing in the middle. “Ah, Y/n, just who I wanted to see”
You rolled your eyes as Drakis stood in front of you “What do you want?”
He began circling you as the other Zakarian was dismissed. “I have a proposition for you”
“What kind of proposition?”
“One that would lead to your freedom.” He grinned, making your gut twist.
He continued to circle you, watching you closely “What do you mean?”
He stopped behind you, leaning close, his breath against your neck, making you want to flinch away, but you stood still, unwavering “Kill them.”
“What?”
“Kill them. The humans. Kill them, for revenge for abandoning you, and I will set you free.” He continued to walk around you stopping in front of you know, a grin across his face.
“No.” your voice was stern, cold “I wont.”
“Not even for your freedom?” Seeing doubt in your face he took a small step closer. “I give you my word that if you kill them I will set you free, and you know that we Zakarians never go back on our word.”
You stared at him for a moment .“Go to hell.”
- - -
Jim paced in his cell, staring at the tunnel the Zakarian dragged you through. He looked back at the crew, as they stared ahead, also afraid for you.
Not much time passed before they heard gruff voices coming from the tunnel, and another moment later you were being dragged back towards the cells. But before they got to your cell, Drakis grabbed you and threw you roughly to the ground near Jims cell.
When you looked back up, he saw blood dripping down the side of your face, and a feeling of anger came over him. He glared at Drakis as he walked closer. A group of Sulurans ran to your aid but were stopped when Drakis pointed a gun at them, causing them to cower away.
Drakis stared down at you as you stood up, facing him, your stare was cold and angry. The both of you had done this quite a few times. He knocks you down but you keep getting up. Taking out a large stick he swung it at you, you dodged the first time, but he swung around again, quicker, the others could hear the sound of electricity as it struck your side, bringing you to the ground with a groan.
“Drakis, stop!” Jim yelled, but he was ignored.
Drakis continued to stare at you, watching as you rose to your feet again. This time he swung his own fist, it collided with your stomach, you fell to your knees, before he took his gun and struck you with it. A few moments passed before you slowly rose again.
This time Drakis let out a gruff laugh, his voice filling the cavern. “Two-hundred years we’ve done this. Two hundred years of beatings and you still get back up! I’ve always underestimated you haven’t I? Yet here I am, offering you a chance of freedom, and you reject it?” Jim and the crew walked forward, listening intently. “The humans betrayed you! They left you to die, and yet you protect these ones?!” He pointed at the crew “Kill them and I will set you free!”
Drakis was silenced when a small laugh escaped your lips, as was the crew and the Sulurians. They all looked at you, a smile on your face, but not just an amused smile, an angry smile.
“You think I blame the humans? It was ONE human that betrayed me, not all of them. Yes, I was angry.” you looked briefly over at Jim. “I was angry for a long time, but I forgave them. One human doesn’t define all of them. And I choose to believe, as I have for over two-hundred years, that no matter how many humans are evil, as a whole, they are good, and I forgive them!” you pointed at Jim and the others before pausing, your voice dropping as you glared at Drakis. “But I don’t forgive you.’ You straightened your body, showing that you had no fear. “You are the one that took my friends, you are the one that tortured and killed them, you are the one that imprisoned the Sulurans, you are the monster here! I’ve been betrayed by men like you before, and I wont do it again, so you can take your offer and shove it.” Your voice was cold.
Drakis growled at you. “There are no men like me.”
Another small smile came across your face, but this time it was a small sad one. “There are always men like you.”
Drakis laughed loudly now, the sound echoing off of the walls, making the Sulurans around you flinch in fear. “Perhaps it is time I end your suffering”
“You can try, but you will lose, just like you always have.” Seeing his face grow in anger, you spoke louder, so that every Suluran could hear you. “No matter, how many times you tear me down, no matter how many times you tear me apart and put me back together, no matter how many parts of me you take away, my hope, my voice, my home, family, my friends. The one thing you will never, ever take away is my humanity. I will never stop being human, and I will never, ever, stop fighting you! I will keep fighting you, I will never stop, if it takes another two hundred years, or a thousand, you will never win!”
Jim and the crew watching you with admiration, no matter what you had been through you were still stronger that they could imagine. The Sulurans slowly filled the cavern, your voice drawing them in.
“It’s not time to end my suffering Drakis.” He stared at you in confusion. “But it is time to end their’s.” you said, referring to the Sulurans.
Suddenly rushing towards a room near you, you picked up a nearby tool and struck the Zakarians guardian the room. The room was full of levers, all of them keeping the cells shut. Quickly pulling all of them, the cells opened. Jim and his crew rushed out, grabbing the Zakarians. One grabbed you and threw you to the ground. Using the same tool you had before you swung, knocking him down before you hit him again knocking him unconscious.
Hearing a large cry you looked back, seeing the Sulurans running towards the Zakarians, finally fighting back. Standing, you see Drakis ready to fire his weapon at the crew. Rushing forward you jump at him, grabbing the weapon and ripping it from his hands. Before you could use it, another Zakarian knocked you down.
Suddenly, Jim was on him, dragging him to the ground and knocking him unconscious. Hearing Drakis yell for more of his men, you quickly grabbed the shocking staff from his belt and used it on him, as he fell to the ground, your eyes rose to the roof, to the drill.
Rushing past Drakis you began running up the staircase “Stop her!” You heard Drakis yell.
Jim looked up at the sound, watching as Drakis and a group of Zakarians ran up the staircase, his eyes then falling on you, you were going for the drill. As Jim ran after you he heard phaser fire, looking around. He saw Sulu and a group of Starfleet officers enter the cavern. Seeing Spock approach them, he continued after you.
As you got closer to the drill, you heard some Zakarians right behind you, turning, you fired the weapon you had taken from Drakis, killing two Zakarians and injuring the others. Seeing Drakis running after you, you tried to fire the weapon again, but this time it didn’t fire. Throwing it down, you continued towards the drill.
Just before you got to it, you felt a harsh shock against your back as Drakis struck you with the shocking staff. You groaned but managed to spin, swinging at Drakis you manage to knock him backwards, but not by much. Lunging forward he knocked you to the ground, wrapping his hand around your throat, he began to squeeze. Grabbing a nearby rock you smashed it against his head, stunning him long enough for you to push him away. He quickly reached over to one of the dead Zakarians and grabbed a blade from his belt.
As you stood and reached for the drill, you felt a sharp pain fill your body and then Drakis’s voice against your ear. “It wasn’t supposed to end like this.” He had stabbed you, the large blade going through most of your body.
You heard a distant yell that you recognized as Jim’s voice, he was coming, but he was too late.
“Yes. It was.” you pushed away from him, feeling the blade slide out of your body, still in Drakis’s grip.
You heard Drakis yell as you turned the drill on, quickly pointed it towards the cavern ceiling. Ducking, the ceiling began breaking, large pieces of rock falling from the roof. You looked down as you saw the Sulurans running into the halls into safety.
You were shocked by the sudden amount of light that filled the cavern, it was too much, too harsh. Suddenly you were yanked to your feet by Drakis. You stared into his eyes as you saw his face begin to darken, as if he was burning.
He opened his mouth to speak, but was silenced when his whole body suddenly turned to ash, the rest of the Zakarians in the cavern doing to same.
You stood for a moment, seeing someone running towards you. It was hard to tell who it was, everything was so bright. Your body suddenly began feeling numb as you fell to your knees.
“Y/n!” Jim yelled as he got to you, he grabbed you before you fell face first into the dirt. He felt warm blood cover his hand as held onto you. Lying you down on the ground, he turned around, seeing some of the crew “Bones!” he yelled, getting the Doctors attention “Here!”
He looked back down at you as you stared through the large open cavern, your eyes were almost glazed over.
“Y/n hold on.”
As you stared up, all you could see was a bright white light, but slowly, more things became clear. Jim’s face directly above you, and past that, you saw something else. Something...blue? It took you a moment before your memories could catch up with you. The sky. You could see the sky.
“Y/n, you did it, you freed them, you freed the Sulurans.”
His voice seemed far away, but you weren’t worried, not anymore. More voices approached, it was hard to place them, but then their faces appeared. Doctor McCoy and Uhura, but you weren’t aware of the others standing around you, Scotty, Jaylah, Spock, some Sulurans you had grown close to.
“It’s so blue.”
Jim stared at you “Y/n?”
“The sky.” Your voice was quiet, almost a whisper “I forgot how blue it was.”
Jim looked up, seeing the blue sky above them. He looked back down at you “But you haven’t seen the best part. You have to hold on so you can see the sunset.”
“The sunset?” You repeated, it was getting hard to breath. “I can’t remember” you paused, your eyes growing heavy “I would like to....remember.” Your voice became a mumble as you began to lose consciousness.
“Y/n, I need you to hold on for me” Bones said as he tried to stop the bleeding. “Jim we need to get her back to the ship”
Jim tried to call to the ship, the large whole in the cavern giving him a strong enough signal. “Three to beam up, now!”
“Can I see it? The sunset?”
