The curl of his lips couldn’t quite be helped as Tahno glanced down at the clothes that Ming had insisted upon for nearly a week. Instead of his normal, minimalist fashion, Tahno wore a jacket that could’ve rivaled the Republic City Showgirls in its’ flashy design. 

It was absolutely ridiculous, and Tahno wouldn’t be talked about as a glitter-wearing fool if he could help it. 

“Joy,” He drawled, the word falling thickly from his tongue. “My teammates and I have drastically different tastes.” Tahno waved his hand flippantly, pretending as if he couldn’t have cared less about his fashion dilemma. 

"Keep your eye out for us," He told the girl, winking at her. "I’m sure one couldn’t miss us even if they tried.”

for the headcanon: ooh, how about Mako?

Mako identifies as a heterosexual trans man. He remembers having experienced dysphoria at a very young age, though he can’t pinpoint when exactly as the years following the death of his parents are often a blur of general anxiety. When things settled down a bit and he and Bolin got their first probending job (which mostly involved cleaning up the gym after the competitors left) and steady pay, Mako began reaching out for resources from the nearby trans resource center. He cut his hair short, began binding, and insisted that he be publicly recognized for the man he was. After months of saving and pooling money Mako was able to afford top surgery, which put him out of the competitor’s ring for a little bit but was absolutely, positively worth it.
