For the past two years we’ve been hard at work on YIIK: A Postmodern RPG. And while we we’re not quite ready to release the game today, we are happy to announce that YIIK is now playable at Toys R Us, Gamestop, Target, and Bestbuy at the PlayStation 4 Demo Kiosk. So, if you’ve been eager to try the game but haven’t had the opportunity to visit us at a convention, now is your chance! What if you still want more!? we’ll be showing a nearly finished version of the game at PAX Prime early next month. It will be a completely new demo, and show off elements of the game that we haven’t shown off before. Now, as for the release of the full game, we’ll be making a video soon with an update on development, as well as an announcement or two. ;) Thank you guys for your support!! Wenn es eine Kultur im Ruhrgebiet gibt, dann ist es die Buden. Vielfältig und fast in jeder Straße eine Andere. Leider haben schon viele geschlossen und dienen so nicht mehr als Umschlagplatz für Neues aus dem Quartier. Schade! Irgendwann wird es diese windschiefen Kioske wohl bald nicht mehr geben. Immer wieder begegnete ich diesen Orten des täglichen Bedarfs in den letzen Jahren im Kaukasus. Manchmal gab es sogar Khinkali dort zu essen. Aber auf jeden Fall gab es immer das notwendige dort.

Ende der 90-iger Jahre - ich kann mich noch gut daran erinnern - waren die Straßen in Tbilisi gesäumt von diesen Buden. Als ich damals das erste mal in Tbilisi landete, fiel mir schon aus der Luft die Welt der Kioske ins Auge, denn die Stadt hüllte sich in Dunkelheit. Stromausfälle suchten die Stadt immer wieder heim. Nur bei den Kiosken tuckerten die Generatoren. Die Stadt war von oben eine Lichterkette aus Glühbirnen, die die Kioske illuminierten. Neben billigen Zigaretten konnte man dort auch seinen Nescafe bekommen, der aus mir unerklärlichen Gründen sehr populär ist.
