   Why do you care if you quit the show tho? There are plenty of shows going nowhere that people still have hope for – TBL isn’t the first, won’t be the last, and certainly isn’t the only one on air rn. It doesn’t make people stupid to have hope for something they’ve invested time in no matter how unlikely things may be.   

That’s a fair question, @kissthefuture. BUT I actually watched the last couple episodes, so:

1) I’m not ranting about something I haven’t watched.

2) And I’m apparently dumb enough to believe when people say the episodes weren’t not too bad. So I came back to watch them.

So technically I’ve been watching the show for the past weeks to see - naively hoping - if the writers could actually retcon everything for the better again.

The answer is: NO. They can’t.

I’m definitely watching better shows atm. American Gods, The Handmaid’s Tale, Big Little Lies to name a few. It’s so interesting to watch brilliant shows and then coming back to TBL realizing how trashy it is.

So I’m certainly not back for s5. Even though I’ll admit I will look out for spoilers to see how the show will continue their path down the cancellation drain. I kinda like to hurt myself seeing my ship getting destroyed completely.

Time can change you a lot. Even a year can make a huge difference! Thinking back where I was a year ago, compared to now, I couldn’t be more different. I'm forever changing and evolving. Ever look back at an old picture and barely recognize yourself? If you have, you’ll understand. Some of us have periods of change where we become unrecognizable. Maybe one, or many aspects of our lives change at the same time. Where life is now so different, you can’t even picture the life and person you once were. It sounds silly. Like an out of body experience. But it’s true. The person I was 10 years ago is not the person I am now. I’ve experienced so much since then... We have old friends we don’t talk to. Memories of old habits. Places we used to go... A life that seems so far away now and we get happy that it is. Sometimes you don’t want to look back. Sometimes the only thing you can do is move forward and on. The truth is, you’re allowed to say goodbye to your past. You are years of experience that make you who you are. But your past doesn’t define you in one way or another. You can only grow from it. You’re allowed to put memories in the back of your head. You’re allowed to move on with your life. You can make new friends, visit new places, develop better habits and live a life so full that you don’t miss your past. You’re allowed to be happy. You’re free to create a new world. One that does not dwell on who you were 5, 10, 15 years ago. Because truth is, none of us stay the same. Who would want to anyway? Maybe the past is supposed to be just that, a reminder of who we once were and how far we’ve come. Some people live in the past, some may dwell, some move forward, and some try to forget it. None of us are right or wrong. We are all just doing the best we can. But sometimes in order to grow, we need to kiss the past goodbye. We need to let go of negativity. We need to accept what happened and move on.  So here's a kiss to my past.
