Hi Hawk! Could you please do Number 36 from Kiss prompts with Rex and a Jedi!Reader, please? Thank you! 🌸
36. “We can never be together” kiss • from this prompt list
Captain Rex x gen!Jedi Reader • prompt masterlist
“Love, please,” Rex murmured. His bright eyes were shattered and fragmented like broken glass, tears beginning to reflect in the low light of the storage room.
“We can’t keep sneaking around like this, Rex!” You argued in a choked whisper. “If we were found, I’d be kicked out of the Order, but you…”
He shut his eyes and pressed his forehead against yours, willing you not to continue speaking so you could both continue in blissful denial. The risk was far too great for you to consider, though.
“You would be shipped back to Kamino and decommissioned,” you finished, the silence that fell afterwards ringing with finality. “I won’t risk that. I won’t risk you.”
Rex pulled away and shook his head. “You’re worth it.”
“Am I? Am I— are we— worth more than all your men? How would they manage without you leading? We can’t… we can’t keep being naively hopeful about this.”
His harsh sigh brushed across your cheek before his lips softly ghosted over the same patch of skin. “I know.”
“I’m sorry,” you cried softly.
“Me too.” He stayed pressed up against you. “Kiss me one more time?”
You’re denied a future together, but you’re not denied this. You prayed it would be enough to keep your heart from freezing over in the loneliness that is to come.
Your lips met his softly at first, moving in sync just like the two of you always had. He was warm and firm against you, one hand sliding up to cup your jaw while the other clutched your waist to pull you closer against him. Your kiss continued slowly, both of you wanting to make it last as long as possible.
Maybe it was from lack of oxygen, maybe it was from his proximity, maybe it was from his kiss: all you knew is that your head was spinning. You clutched his armored shoulders and parted your lips against his, and Rex seemed to take that as his signal to deepen the embrace.
He was all around you. His tongue swept into your mouth as his hand tilted your head to gain better access to you. He was like waves crashing against your shore, and you were willing to withstand his passion.
You’ll break apart far sooner than you’ll like, but time is against you. Until then, you and Rex had each other for as long as you remained in that small and shadowed storage closet.
