i've decided you all deserve to find out what i'm actually yap yap yapping about. behold, the main cast of my book:
art above by lucianlepore // art below by fuckitdarling
this is my explicitly queer, t4t high fantasy magnum opus
more info under the cut.... :3c
sylvan [he/it/they] -- immortal shapeshifter and second born living star. currently pretending to be an elf mage. has immense disdain for mortal life, considering the inanimate star to be the superior state of being. the majority of his power has been sealed away by his older brother, who considers him a danger to all mortal life. has spent the last 200 years trying to find a way to break the seal.
calem [he/him] -- human runesmith. trans man in his mid-30s. after moving to the big city to pursue magic, he was inexplicably denied magic certification and fell on hard times. he ended up using his skills for thievery and grey market enchanting to make ends meet. took up adventuring because it's more "honest". feels very strongly about seeing queer youth thrive.
veera [she/her] -- old-blood satyr warrior. abandoned as a fawn and raised as an orphan in a human village. she aged out of the home with her best friend and took on odd jobs and adventuring to get by. she doesn't understand why she looks different from other satyrs, but also doesn't care enough to find out. madly in love with grace, but thinks she doesn't feel the same.
grace [she/her but in a genderfucky way] -- feytouched human healer. found in the woods as a child and raised as an orphan. she wants to find out who her parents were so she can reconnect with her tribe and fully realize her magic. was rendered mute by a severe injury many years ago, and now only communicates in sign language or through veera's interpretation. took on healing jobs and adventuring to lighten veera's load.
ennos [he/him] -- Khamori omega. after losing favor in his clan, he set out into human lands hoping to become an adventurer and make a name for himself. he thinks if he makes it big and gets popular, it'll make up for him being an omega and having a magical core that's too impure to ever achieve ascension. his skills are better suited to defense, so he prefers to be a meat shield. token cishet.
They all go on a little adventure together to a funky little place called the King's Labyrinth, hoping to claim a really large bounty for a life-changing amount of money. All they have to do is delve into this uncharted, magically distorted underground fortress full of weird monsters, and find a royal heirloom that's been lost for generations! Easy :D
Though, really, it's about Sylvan being gay and trans as fuck learning to accept being alive. It's about about trans rage. It's about being abandoned by the people who were supposed to love you when you didn't fit their expectations for you. It's about finding acceptance from people who genuinely want you as you are. It's about learning how to live in a world that doesn't want you in it.
...that and there's t4t yaoi in it.
i'm tagging all book related stuff under #secondborn + the characters' names. :3c
one thing you need to know about 2014. is that what does the fox say was playing pretty much everywhere you went. and everybody was just relieved it wasn't blurred lines
racism runs so deeply in people that if you call it out you are calling out them, and instead of sitting down and examining their own racism they lash out at you for being sooo meansies to them. you don't even have to be talking about anyone's racist behavior in particular because it makes racists so uncomfortable they will come forward themselves and act like you're targeting them specifically. it's okay when they do it because they're doing it in the correct way, in the nice way! they don't mean it like that. in fact they're actually being progressive. you're the cruel one for acting like their racist behavior is racist. you're the problem if you're bothered by their comfort racism. you're the bitchy colored person who makes eeeverything about racism when it so clearly isn't. i'm fucking sick of this.
honestly i think it's so funny when doctors are like. know the RISKS of taking T. you will have MOOD SWINGS and become a VIOLENT and UNCONTROLLABLE creature who HOWLS at the MOON. it will turn you GAY. like i hate to say it guys but youve just invented male hysteria
dont store a knife with the point facing down, it damages the blade. no, dont do that either. when you store it with the point facing up you might accidentally hurt yourself when you try to grab it. dont store a knife at all actually. your blade must never leave your hand, always ready, ruthless and waiting. you know deep down that ever since you learned the stench of blood you will never be able to cast it aside. or just get a sheath for it i guess.
A comic I made recently. You cannot imagine how hard it was to find the courage to draw and post this, because my fears have grew so much stronger than me. Even setting he/him pronouns in my bio feels scary and unsafe. And drawing that comic felt like a crime.
Yeah, you! Are you trans? Do you like reading books? Or watching movies?
Do you like media about trans men/transmasculine characters but don't know where to find it?
That's sooo crazy because I have this little spreadsheet I'm working on where I'm trying to document all media with protagonists/major characters who are FTM or transmasculine.
The spreadsheet currently has 400+ entries spread across the following categories:
Books
Manga
Memoirs and non-fiction
Movies
TV Shows
Graphic novels / Comics
Webcomics
Audio dramas
Books and movies are also sorted by:
Which character is trans (MC, love interest, antagonist, etc)
If the trans character is POC
The trans character's sexuality (Because I saw lots of transhet guys sad about only being able to find gay romances)
If the author/actor is also trans (if we know for sure)
It's free to use, and free to add to as well! Editing permissions are on, and I check on the spreadsheet every now and then to make sure everything is in order and to clean up.
If you know something that isn't on the list, please add it! You don't have to fill in every single column, but fill it to the best of your abilities.

I made this because I want it to be a community resource. So even if you're not a trans guy or transmasculine person, please reblog!
Happy pride everyone! It has now been 3 years since I started the spreadsheet, and there are now over 600 entries across 9 categories!
This project has expanded past my wildest dreams, and I've discovered so many wonderful works and people through it. None of this could have been done without all of the contributions from the community, and all the people over the years who have assembled other lists of books and shows and games with transmasc characters in them.
I've been seeing an uptick in posts on social media lamenting the total lack of transmasc rep in media, and it's reminded me to bump this project again. It's not true! There's a lot out there, you just have to find it!
Someone recently helped me divvy up the sheet and set it up with proper tables, so there's no better time to check on it than the present.
If you want to sort through the sheet, I highly suggest clicking this button and selecting "Create filter view"! It makes a temporary filter that only rearranges the list for YOU, and means you can look for what you want without having to fight anyone else who's actively looking at the spreadsheet. The button is on every table.
Have a wonderful month, stay alive, stay happy, STAY TRANSGENDER!!
some hyper famous artists like Van Gogh transcend overratedness and become underrated because they're so normalized. Like I'll look at a van Gogh and I'm like wait this really is amazing you guys don't get it
