(Letter) Miss Evie
Dear Evie,
I owe you an apology for last night. It was unkind of me to let my work interfere with what should have been a pleasant evening. Unfortunately, corruption is insidious and prefers to slip in under the radar. A murderess in our midst could not be ignored and the proper handling of her case became my responsibility the instant I was made aware of the situation.
It still confounds me that they would go so far as to let the woman's own Orc 'retrieve her memories,' when he was the very creature to cordon them off. I am sorely tempted to pursue criminal charges against that Orc on behalf of Silvermoon City. Tampering with evidence, accessory after the fact, assault, mental manipulation... The list goes on. I was somewhat disappointed that the High-Priestess seemed content to let a criminal 'aid' in the retrieval of memories that he himself buried. I may have misjudged Lady Sunvein. Perhaps she was too distracted by the Gala to properly consider her actions. Thankfully, she saw reason.
I have yet to learn what judgment will befall the suspect. I will, of course, let you know as soon as possible. You have my word that your friend's murder will not go unpunished. Sadly, the suspect's deteriorating mental condition may take execution off the table. If this troubles you, I could at least see to it that a restraining order is in place. Such an order would prevent the suspect from coming within so many yards of your person at any given time. You may wish to mention this to your 'Highlord.'
Enough about that. Thank you for allowing me to serve as your escort. You were lovely company, and your presence made the evening quite enjoyable. Would you consider attending such events with me in the future?
With hope, Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Sol
