I made accidental caramel sauce. Okay, it was intentional caramel sauce, but it started when my attempt to rehydrate very old solid brown sugar went wrong. I suddenly had wet sugar. I hate wasting things. I initially wanted to aim for chewy salt caramel candies. But then I thinned it a bit much and realized I'd rather have a sauce anyway. The final product has butter, salt, and eggnog in addition to the brown sugar. There's a full pint jar of it in the fridge. This picture is just the bit that didn't fit.
