What are you going to write for swbb??? 👀👀👀

AHH I’m not sure!!! I have three wips I’m thinking about — and, embarrassingly, all three have been sitting in the same unfinished state for over a year! Literally for two of them all I’m missing is the last chapter/scene 🤧 the one I’m leaning towards working on though is a skybridger fic and takes place mostly on korriban 🥸 what are you going to write? Have you picked yet?

This is a scene from Sunlight by @kitepiper, which I did illustrations for in this year’s SW Big Bang. The scene didn’t go exactly like this in the actual fic, but it was pretty close. Luke was considerably more tactful and considerate about what he actually said, but the thought was there and I figured it’d be funny to illustrate.

The fic is an AU where Ezra worked for the Inquisitorius for a while when he was younger, but eventually managed to escape. Now many years later with a history as a merc, he’s trying to make up for his past by helping Luke find new students to rebuild the Jedi order. He’s not excited about Luke figuring out his past, but it’s an inevitably that at some point it will come up. Sunlight is a Skybridger fic that is as flirty and cute as it is angsty, so if that’s your thing you would probably have a great time with it!

OMG -- how is HELD not in my new WIP?! It is LITERALLY a Faking It for the Rebellion fic. But POWER is...and in a big way. ;)

Ezra may have been the one with Jedi powers – which were probably going all wonky right now – but she could sense every single thing he was feeling, all his anxiety and nervousness and the fact that his brain was completely shutting down on her.

For the wip guessing game, "knowing" and/or "growl" ?

There’s something fun in thoroughly vexing the supposedly all-knowing jetiise. Somehow vexing Kenobi in particular is very fun.

I really was thinking this WIP had "growl" in it! I'm kinda disappointed it didn't, and might add that in now that I'm aware of it!!

1 and 10?

1. Is there a story you're holding off on writing for some reason?

So many. I get a lot of half baked ideas but they require time and focus to write. Currently my Big Fic That Gets Focus is the SWBB one, so anything else that isn't short can get notes jotted but has to wait.

Really want to return to the universe of last year's BB again. Luke and Ezra have more adventures to have together, Thrawn's got a new paradigm to deal with, and Sabine has a people and a Darksaber to chase after. I'll never get all the threads but they call to me. Separately, I have thoughts about Science Jedi (ExplorCorps storm hunters, Force-aided navigation in the early days of hyperspace).

10. Write in silence or with background noise? With people or alone?

I need either silence or background noise that will make me focus. I cannot write with music and I REALLY can't write with the tv on (the latter has been biting me a lot recently). Ideal focusing background noise is some kind of ambient drone or soundscape that isn't too repetitive and sets the mood. I've got a playlist collecting videos that have worked for me for writing SW.

I do find it highly motivating to write with people, sharing woes or focusing together then chatting in breaks. Sprints are fantastic.
