Summary: After escaping from a man who claimed to be your husband, you find yourself in the care of Thoma and Kamisato Ayato. Struggling with fear, doubt, and the weight of a past you cannot recall, you grapple with your emotions—especially toward Ayato, whose patience and quiet understanding make you question everything you thought you knew about trust and freedom.

The cold night air wrapped around you like a suffocating embrace, your legs burning with exhaustion as you darted through the dense forests of Inazuma. The scent of damp earth and sakura petals mixed in the wind, yet all you could focus on was the pounding of your heart, the terror still clawing at your throat. You ran, faster than you ever had before, ears twitching at every snap of a twig, every shift of the shadows.
He had called himself your husband.
That man, the one who had stolen you away from the only life you had known, had whispered sweet lies of a past you could not recall, of a bond you had no memory of forging. You had always known you were different—born with the ears and tail of a kitsune, your origins were a mystery even to yourself. But his words unsettled you, made you question everything. Had you truly forgotten? Or had he simply sought to chain you to a reality that wasn’t yours?
Your foot caught on a root, and you tumbled forward, crashing into the underbrush with a startled yelp. Panic surged through you, and you struggled to push yourself up, only for the presence of another to make you freeze.
A hand reached out. “Are you alright?”
Your head snapped up, meeting the concerned gaze of a blond-haired man dressed in red and black. His green eyes held a warmth that contrasted starkly with the cruel ones you had escaped from. A moment passed, and the recognition struck you.
“Thoma,” you whispered hoarsely.
His brows furrowed. “You know me?”
You hesitated. You had seen him before—at festivals, passing by the Kamisato Estate, always with that welcoming smile. He was known as Ayato’s right-hand man, and if he was here…
“Thoma,” another voice called, smooth as silk yet holding a quiet authority. “What’s going on?”
Your breath hitched as Kamisato Ayato himself stepped into view. Dressed immaculately as always, his pale eyes flickered with curiosity and something unreadable as they landed on you. Instinctively, your tail bristled, and you shrank back, wary of yet another powerful man.
But he did not reach for you, did not demand your submission or compliance. Instead, he merely tilted his head slightly, as if piecing together the situation.
“They're hurt,” Thoma answered, kneeling beside you. “And they are terrified.”
You flinched at the words, unwilling to show weakness yet unable to deny the truth of them. The scent of the one who had imprisoned you still clung to your skin, his presence a ghost that refused to let go. But these two… they felt different.
Ayato crouched as well, his voice gentle yet firm. “You needn’t fear us. If you are in danger, the Kamisato Clan will offer you protection.”
Protection.
The word was foreign on your tongue, something that had always been a distant dream. And yet, looking at him now, at the quiet certainty in his gaze, something within you wavered.
You did not trust him. You did not trust anyone.
But for now, you had nowhere else to go.
Days passed, and though the Kamisato Estate was grand, though Thoma was kind and Ayato was patient, you still felt the ghost of your past clinging to you. The weight of hands that had forced you to stay, the whispered claims of a love you did not remember. Your mind warred with itself—was the man who had taken you telling the truth? Had you forgotten something precious?
Or was he just another liar, weaving a tale to bind you to him?
You kept your distance from Ayato, yet he never forced you closer. He merely observed, always with that unreadable gaze, as if waiting for you to decide what you wanted.
One evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon, you found yourself standing in the gardens, lost in thought. The sakura trees swayed gently, petals falling like soft snow around you. And then—
“I imagine it must be difficult,” Ayato’s voice came from behind you.
You turned, instinctively defensive, but he remained where he was, keeping a respectful distance. “What must be?”
“Not knowing who to believe.”
Your breath caught. He had seen right through you.
You swallowed. “And what if I choose wrong?”
He studied you for a moment, then, with the barest hint of a smile, he said, “Then we shall see to it that you have the freedom to choose again.”
Something within you cracked, just a little.
Perhaps… just perhaps… you were not as lost as you thought.

•It didn’t bother him at all, the fact that you weren’t human. After all, he literally is friends with a giant alligator, a kitsune s/o was nothing too bizarre to him
•Although he did have to learn all your little quicks and such - of course, this wasn’t required of him but he simply wished to have more knowledge when it came to your species
•He comes to learn that you are afraid of dogs and makes it a point to keep you away from any and all dogs [ although when Yama came into the picture let's just say Khun had a lot on his hands ]
•Doesn’t really like it when other people touch your tails or ears, very bluntly tells them to get their hands off
•Your kitsunebi is a polar opposite to his ice shinsu, making you both quite the duo in battle
•If you irritate him or he just wants to mess with you he probably grabs you by the tail [ gently of course ]
•He’ll never admit how much he enjoys petting your ears and tails whilst you’re both cuddling. It soothes him
꒰ ꒷꒦୨the twenty fifth bam୧˚₊๑
•Definitely something he didn’t really expect but Bam sprouts wings and horns every now and then, you being a kitsune really isn’t going to be such a bizarre thing to him
•You have to gradually teach him about your species along with all your quirks that comes with it. Bam’s a little clueless but manages to keep up with you as time goes by
•Knows you hate dogs and made sure to tell Yama to stay ten feet away from you at all times. He displays protectiveness if the slayer refuses to listen to him - so much so that the two almost got into an argument if it weren’t for Karaka stepping in
•Sometimes you enjoy tricking your poor Bam and use your transformation abilities to shift into other people. He falls for it *every time.* You can’t help it! He looks so lost and confused when you prank him, only to grow embarrassed and flustered
•Makes it a point to watch you whenever you’re both in battle. After learning that losing your tails means immediate death for you, he always observes to make sure that the enemy isn’t trying any funny business when it comes to you
•Loves giving your ears little feather kisses, especially if you’re nervous about anything
hiiii i'm new here and i loved her writing, she made me happy argh ♡. Okay I can ask for a scenario with Alucard, where the Reader is a Kitsune, with ears and tails, she is basically a spirit of the forest, but she was attracted by the melancholy of his Castle. And ignoring his warnings at the entrance, she starts to leave bouquets of flowers and small jewels at the entrance to the castle. She is very shy, always running before he sees her. you can ignore this and sorry for my bad English.
A/N: Your English is just fine! And I’M sorry for the long wait.
♡ ♡ ♡
Kitsune!Reader x Alucard (Post S3) Imagine:
As a kitsune, you were incredibly clever. You also knew everything that happened within your forest. After all, you were its designated guardian spirit. Most recently, as you performed your guardian duties, a massive castle manifested next to the crumbled former Belmont estate. You had experienced some turbulence before; with your forest so close to a great monster’s hunter’s former home, it came with the territory. However, this castle’s sudden appearance was the work of someone greater than any of the road magicians you had experienced in the past. You remembered quite clearly how it came to be there.
Many nights ago, a down-trodden band of travelers came through on a covered wagon to the famed Belmont estate. There were three of them, and they seemed to work well together. They vanished into a hidden spirit door under the rubble, and you didn’t hear anything for hours. Then, suddenly, out of nowhere, this giant monstrosity of a castle appeared not too far from where the travelers had vanished. Upon closer inspection, you realized you recognized the castle from tales of long ago. It belonged to Dracula.
When the group surfaced, you took the liberty of getting a better look at those faces. Much to your surprise, you found a Speaker, the last surviving son of the House of Belmont, and Alucard- Dracula’s son.
You didn’t dare follow them past the threshold of the castle, but from what your large fox ears could hear, a lengthy battle must have ensued. When the sun came up later that morning, only the three travelers emerged, looking rather worse for wear. You deducted they were the only survivors.
It was puzzling, to say the least. You understood why Belmont would want to kill Dracula and his associates. And you guessed that as a Speaker, the strange woman would most likely be against the persecution or genocide of any race or species. But you couldn’t imagine why the dhampir, Alucard, Dracula’s only son, would agree to end his Father’s reign in such a way. Yes, it was a necessary sacrifice, but still, it must have been incredibly difficult for the vampire boy to do so.
He seemed so serious. You wondered if it was even possible to make him smile. Perhaps his friends were capable of cheering him up? But if they were, you wouldn’t have known it because no sooner than the deed was done, did Belmont and the Speaker take off in the covered wagon. They left Alucard all alone, which seemed insensitive. You knew it wasn't your responsibility; the castle was technically out of forest bounds, but your curiosity had gotten the best of you.
You ventured closer to the castle, cautiously leaving the safety of your home’s foliage behind. And you were glad you did because once you ventured just a tad bit closer, your big fox ears had managed to detect the sound of sobbing.
The poor Alucard boy was crying.
Oh, you felt so awful! You wanted so desperately to comfort him, but at the same time, your shy and sneaky nature forbid you from talking to him outright. He seemed to need companionship. But at the same time, you recognized he wasn’t in any physical danger. On the other hand, the occupants of your forest needed you to protect them from cruel trackers and hunters who wished to do them harm. So, you simply said a quick blessing over him and continued on your way.
This pattern of yours continued for some time. You were drawn to the melancholy of the castle. It called out to your very soul. For that reason, you continued to discreetly visit and speak blessings over the castle and its occupant.
It was a month or so into this routine when those two showed up. You sensed dark energy resonating within them and as a result, you kept a close eye on them as they approached Alucard. You were surprised at how well he could hold his own in a fight and wondered if you were less sneaky if his dhampir ears would detect you. But that concern was far from your mind. You wanted to keep your forest safe from those two mysterious travelers. You didn’t trust them.
As it turned out, you were right not to.
You didn’t know how or why it happened… All you knew is one week you went to give your blessing to the castle, only to find the corpses of those two travelers up on pikes at the front entrance. You felt the situation had escalated, and simple enchantments and blessings would no longer be enough to protect the heart of Alucard and his castle.
You started leaving gifts whenever you went to say a blessing. They were just small things, an arrangement of acorns, flower wreaths, fresh berries, and sweet-smelling tree leaves.
When you came back, you noticed your gifts were gone, clearly taken inside by Alucard. Your heart soared. It made you glad to help. At the same time, it made you worried. Now that Alucard knew he had a visitor, he would be on the lookout for his mysterious gift giver.
A part of you wanted to be his friend, but the shy part of you knew it was best to stay hidden. After all, kitsune were clever creatures. If you made a fool of yourself in front of your crush, it would seriously damage your reputation.
You were very proud of your most recent gift. It was a collection of crystals, and jewels travelers had lost in your forest throughout the years. You were placing the final touches of flower petals and twigs around the jewels when your large kitsune ears detected footsteps approaching. You quickly had rushed to finish your gift’s presentation before you dashed off, back into the woods.
From a safe distance, you watched as Alucard exited the doors of his castle and made his way to your gift.
You weren’t certain, because you were fairly far away, but when you squinted, you thought you could see the faintest traces of a smile on his face.

GenderNeutralKitsune!Reader and platonic!Shigaraki cuddles
(BNHA SPOILERS!!). Before y’all ask, the reader isn’t a kitsune, so to speak, they’re a normal human with a kitsune quirk! Your quirk allows you to have 3 forms. 1, A human with fox ears and a tail (Likely a holdover from another permanent animal quirk?) 2, A 1 tailed fox - You can’t speak English in this form ): ) And 3, A 9 tailed fox that… also can’t speak English. damn u really got nerfed huh. Also, If you uh don’t like the whole.. murder thing about being involved with the LOV in this AU, it’s part of my ‘The LOV aren’t that bad’ AU, where they’re more vigilante than villain, but they’re forced to be more villainous by AFO
Summary: A kitsune from the tender age of… whenever your quirk first appeared, You soon realised that the world was cold to those who were quirkless. But you weren’t spared, either. After all, your quirk didn’t have any fighting capabilities, really? You couldn’t be a hero. But you’d find one thing that made you feel worth it. The league of villains needed you, because what’s a more inconspicuous way to gather information than a fox? Plus, You could do pick-ups!
They made you worth it.
Even if you were worthless in every other regard, The league cared about you.
——=;+ A fox pup, Somewhere.+;=——
You awake warmly, a fox ear twitching happily. You do ponder, though, what exactly awoke you- Until, you hear Shigaraki scream. “くそー, いまいましい, ひどい, ひどく, とても!” He says, angrily. Although you don’t understand japanese, you understand his tone, deducing that he must’ve lost a game again.
Slowly, you peer into the main room, until you see it,
Dabi. Fighting. Shigaraki. In. Smash. Bros.
Disastrous, you‘re aware. Spinner and kurogiri seem to be watching silently, though Spinner looks amused - and Kurogiri… looks like Kurogiri, -
Until you remember about the delivery you’ve gotta get.
You rush to the door, watching Shigaraki peer over to you. His red eyes don’t seem so intimidating, once you’ve seen him cry over being forced to kill an innocent civilian. Dabi doesn’t come out of his room on those days.
”What’re you doing?” He says, and you notice happily that he said it in English. He cared enough to make sure you knew what he was saying! “I’ve got that delivery to go get, Shiggy!!” You answer, rushing out of the door. Before the door is fully closed, you hear Dabi (One of the members who doesn’t know English, and such has to rely on Shigaraki to translate,) Ask Shigaraki what you said. You don’t manage to hear him answer - Not that it’d matter, - But you hear him tut, due to your little nickname.
——=;+ Mischievous, And likely villainous! +;=——
You, now in your 1-tailed fox form, strut down through autumn leaves, laden with holes from caterpillars. Somehow, though, it doesn’t ruin their beauty. It adds to it. Makes the beautiful oranges, reds, yellows, glimmer all the better in the setting sun, making the question of “How late did I sleep in!?” go unthought and unsaid.
You eventually watch the beautiful leaves fade away individually - And they almost remind you of yourself, in the way they go unnoticed until they’re gone, - and you reach a clearing.
Within it, a single bag lies. You know what’s in there, so you opt to be careful. Slowly, you drag the bag (which was somewhat hindered by not wanting to crush a caterpillar.) over leaf after leaf, until you reach the LOV’s back door. You tap on a window, bag in tow, until Spinner pops it open. Slowly, he picks up the bag and leaves the window open for you (although, only for a minute. Can’t risk anyone seeing you,) as a silent invitation to return. You shake your head, chasing back into the forest.
Once you’re far enough in, You see a young male (Likely a goth, you think amusingly,) with white and red hair, Probably a result of his quirk. He seems to notice you, though he of course notices you as a fox, and his eyes seem to light up.
Maybe he’s never seen a fox up close before?
You ponder up to him, watching him still as not to spook you. How kind of him, You think. You let out a low-pitched trllll of curiousity, bumping your head into his hands. He, however slowly, pats your head, allowing you to rest for a few minutes.
Maybe you could dose off for a minute…
——=;+ A moment of rest, someday. +;=——
When you awake, You’re no longer a tiny fox. You’re a person, and you notice Eraserhead (Ass-raserhead, as you nicknamed him. You don’t actually mind him.) standing with his hair raised, as it slowly falls.
The younger male looks shocked, and the older one looks angry.
You panic. He’s going to hurt you, right?
Every bone in your body tells you to run, your ears twitching over and over again out of anxiety. You switch into your fox form, not even caring which form you take (clearly,) when you notice it’s your 9 nailed variant rather than your one tailed.
You run. You’re scared.
You eventually slow after having run around the city at least 10 times, though you’re pretty sure you lost eraserhead after the 5th time.
You raise a shaking paw up to the window, tapping on it in rapid yet quiet succession. Shigaraki is the one who answers this time, luckily, when you jump through the window and change back into your human form mid-way. You grasp onto him, panting and crying.
”… What’re you doing?” He asks, trying his best to sound angry. But his eyes show that he isn’t. His eyes aren’t terrifying, like eraserheads.
”Nearly- *hah-* caught, woods- eraserhead saw me, human me-“ You blurt out, panicking.
Shigaraki’s eyes go distant for a minute, as he thinks, before he shrugs. “He didn’t find here, though. So it’s fine!” He says, putting on a fake smile. He’s not unhappy, you note, he just doesn’t often smile.
He walks back over to his sofa, plopping down on the now fully empty couch.
You spot your chance, and you take it.
You dash in, curling up on Shigaraki‘s lap as he sighs.
Slowly, as you drift off, you could‘ve sworn you felt a hand gently stroke your ears.

Lemillion / Mirio Togata
.
🐉🥞 Meeting you was what Mirio considered to be a happy accident. He hadn’t been expecting to find a kitsune wandering around in his territory, but there you were.
🐉🥞 Instead of getting you to leave his lands, Mirio decided to introduce himself to you; curious about the brave little kitsune that stared up at a dragon without fear.
🐉🥞 Somewhere along the line, after months of you visiting him during your travels, you had suggested the idea of finding a place to settle down for a while. Which caused an eager Mirio to help you make a home near his cave.
🐉🥞 When Mirio hunted the local wildlife for his food, you were always given a share; whether you wanted it or not. His logic behind doing so, was that it was safer for only one of them to go out to hunt given that humans liked to try and hunt anything that could be seen as weak.
🐉🥞 As time passed, the two of you grew closer. So close in fact, that without even realising it, you had basically become a couple.
🐉🥞 During winter, you would be allowed to enter his cave during the nights to enjoy the warmth that he provided. In return, you would be the one to go out hunting for food given that all Mirio wanted to do during the snowy season was rest inside his cave.
🐉🥞 Springtime, the opposite was true. For different reasons, of course.
🐉🥞 Soon enough, there were rumours circulating; about the dragon that fell in love with the kitsune.
Who asked: Jesus I love the scenario with the kitsune so much. Can I request some headcanons of what happens next ? This time can you mention the Vice dorm leaders and the first year gang as well ? (You don't have to do them if you don't want to though)
~The boys meeting MC’s parent who is a kitsune and is somehow even more intimidating in their human form was certainly interesting.~
~Trey is still his cool and calm self when he meets MC’s parent, but he would be lying if he said that he hadn’t gotten a little tongue tied around them. Don’t judge him! It’s his first time meeting an actual kitsune.~
~It’s commonly known that Ace and Deuce share one brain cell, and that they can be a bit rash in the things they say and do. But for once, they actually behave! Somewhat. They still argue like no tomorrow. But even they could feel the raw magic rolling off of MC’s parents in waves. So they’ll be on their best behavior.~
~Ruggie, the sneaky little hynea is for once shook at the raw power he feels from MC's parent. The look in their eyes...it spoke of wisdom that took centuries to obtain. Possibly before Ruggie and the others were even born. A shiver goes down his spine at that.~
~Jack knows a much stronger predator when he sees one. And MC’s parent? They definitely fit the bill. He’s bracing himself for when they see the Ramshackle dorm that MC has been staying in.~
~Jade thinks that MC’s parent is absolutely fascinating. He wonders if he’ll be able to view their raw magic.~
~Jamil sighs a little as he pulls Kalim away from MC’s parent tail for the tenth time while apologizing. They only just met them! He’ll have to keep an even closer eye on Kalim.~
~Epel thinks that MC’s parent is positively gorgeous. He wonders if they wouldn't mind sharing how they obtained such beauty.~
~Like Epel, Rook would very much appreciate their beauty, and would try to talk to them while they're at Night Raven.~
~In all his years alive as a fae, Lilia has never felt such powerful magic come from one person. Maybe they wouldn't mind if he asked how long it took them to obtain that kind of magic.~
~For the first time in his life, Sebek isn't sure how to proceed when faced with MC's parent. To say that he was nervous, afraid, anxious, and just the tiny bit excited would be the understatement of the century. He'll have to ask Lilia what to do.~
Hello there all my Little Rouges, I know this isn’t a request as usual but I finally took part in a collaboration. Over at the bnharem Discord Server, an amazing collaboration has been brought to life by the members there. You can head over to the MASTERLIST in order to find the rest of the collaboration pieces, I hope you all enjoy them and send some love towards the writers!
For my piece I chose to write for Ashido! The theme we we’re given this time was a soulmate au, what type was left entirely up to us. I chose to make this a Kitsune au as well as a soulmate au, it’s the best of both worlds really. Onwards then, enjoy the story.

As a Kitsune you aged differently than those around, being surrounded by humans was hard and if you were honest it was painful. Human lives seemed to be over in the blink of an eye, passing from existence just as soon as they came in the mind of a Kitsune. Outliving the people around you caused you a lot of pain, you didn’t like the idea of getting close to humans only to lose them when they grew frail and old. You decided for your sake and for the good of your heart, you would no longer allow yourself attachments to humans. Time didn’t ease the pain but you learned to live with it over the millennia, watching as dynasties passed you by and the world changed around you.
You’d been called many things over the vast millennia, ranging anywhere from Goddess to monster! Charming, cunning, strong, beautiful and heavenly; some of the more positive names you’d heard whispered around you as you roamed the world looking for a place to call home. It wasn’t until recently when humans decided that living alongside Kitsune would be beneficial that different names started surfacing. My Lady, honoured one and more but you didn’t like the titles, you just wanted to be called by your real name! Ten thousand years and not once had someone other than your mother called you by your name, it made you feel so lonely in the world.
You spent a lot of time waiting for that one special person, hoping that they would find you soon enough. Every Kitsune had a soulmate, the person who would complete them and make everything seem insignificant. You were yet to find your soulmate, it pained you but over the millennia you had started to convince yourself that perhaps there was no one for you in this world. The person you were waiting for was the only one, the only person who could allow you to see it; to see the colours of the world!

“Alright, our boss doesn’t like tardiness so I’m pleased that you came early. Make sure you don’t stare at her and please be mindful of whatever words may leave your mouth!”
“Alright, alright… I get it already.” Mina chirped as she shook her head and her eyebrows knit together in frustration. “Honestly, I appreciate you doing this for me but how hard could it possibly be to become a secretary to someone?”
“Mina… I did this favour for you, please don’t screw this up and heed my warnings.” Momo reiterated as she crossed her arms over her chest, turning to position herself directly in front of Mina. “Please, you have to understand these rules are in place for a reason.”
Mina sighed as she rubbed the back of her head, her nails scratching at the shaved hair as she shook her head frivolously. “I don’t really get it but fine, I’ll follow these rules for you Yaomomo.”
Momo smiled as she nodded her head, giving her childhood friend a quick once over as she tilted her head to the right. She had known Mina since they were in high school, offering her friend the chance to become a secretary after she had been fired from her last job. The two of them had been very close during their school years and had spent a lot of time fawning over the same things. Things had been good for them; they’d been fortunate enough to be born into the world after the Kitsune had been recognised and received by society. Now, some of the Kitsune held positions of high power and they ran some of the biggest companies in the world. Momo felt bad, hiding it from Mina that she was about to come face to face with a Kitsune.
“Momo? You alright there?” Mina asked out of concern as she reached her hand out towards the woman standing before her.
“Yeah…” Momo coughed as she straightened her posture and moved to brush some of Mina’s hair out of her face. “You wait right here, I’ll come get you once I’ve let her know that you’re here.” Momo stated before turning and walking away down the darkened corridor.
Mina blinked as she watched the woman walk away, she could have sworn there was something wrong with Momo but she knew better than to press for information. She sighed before opting to look around the building, it was a beautiful place and it gave off the feeling of a home more than a business. The paintings and photos on the walls were of places that Mina could only dream about visiting someday. She blinked as he eyes landed on a photo of a woman, her eyes closed as she stood beneath a peach blossom tree and the flowers fell all around her. She couldn’t quite explain it but the woman almost didn’t seem real, as though she were conjured from some fantasy world. Of course, Mina couldn’t tell what colour the woman’s hair was or what colour the kimono she was wearing was either; she was colour blind.
Monochromacy, it was a condition of the eyes that left the world awash of black and white. Colour was something that Mina had been denied since the day she was born into the world, leaving her incapable of seeing the true beauty of the world. As a child she had thought it cruel, to be robbed of the ability to see colour and left unable to enjoy even the simplest of pleasures of life. She had changed her mind as she got older though, realising that some people couldn’t see at all and she was just grateful for the fact she could see! However, there were some people who didn’t take it so well and she had lost out on a lot of job opportunities because of it. Thankfully, Momo had found an opportunity for her and that was why she was currently where she was.
Momo held her breath as she walked closer to the office door at the end of the hallway, sighing heavily as she straightened up her dress and stopped in from of the heavy wooden door. She reached her hand out cautiously, rapping her knuckles against the wood as she announced her arrival at her boss’s office. There was a pause as Momo awaited the response of her boss, knowing better than to enter the office without permission.
“Enter.”
Momo sighed as she moved quickly, twisting the handle and pushing open the door. She moved swiftly, stepping into the room and closing the door behind her to give her boss privacy. She moved across the space of the room quickly, stopping in front of the large desk as she bowed her head. Momo was quiet as she lifted her head, flicking her eyes over to where her boss was sitting and smiling softly. “My Lady, the next candidate for your secretarial position is here.”
“Thank you, I’ll ask that you bring them in immediately Miss Yaoyorozu.”
Momo nodded as she turned on her heal and headed for the door, she hesitated momentarily as her hand hovered over the handle. She wasn’t sure whether she should inform her boss that Mina was colour blind or let her find out for herself, she hadn’t thought it important when suggesting her for the position. Momo shook her head as she turned the handle and pulled the door open, there was no point in her ruining her friends’ chance at getting a new job. She raced back down the hall, bursting with excitement to get Mina into that office.
“Momo, why are you running?” Mina asked as she saw the woman bounding back down the hallway. “Also, who is this woman and what colour is her hair?” She turned to motion to the photo on the wall, frowning as she looked at it before looking back to her friend.
Momo blinked as she looked over to the photo and smiled as she looked back to Mina. “You’re about to meet her.” She quipped before grabbing Mina’s hand and pulling her down along the hallway.
Mina gasped as she was wrenched away from the wall and forced to follow Momo, she stumbled over her feet as she tried her best to keep up with her much taller friend. “Momo, little legs back here!” She complained as she pulled back on the other woman’s hand and forced her to walk at a slower pace. “What’s got you so excited all of a sudden?”
“I’m just glad that you might be working here! If this interview goes well, then you and I will be in the same building almost all the time!” Momo chattered excitedly as she continued her way down the hallway. “Aren’t you excited that I might have snagged you a job?”
“You’ve no idea how happy I am for this opportunity Momo, but you know as well as I do it all depends on one thing.” Mina whispered as she dipped her head, peering down at her feet as she knit her eyebrows together.
“I know… I didn’t tell her though…” Momo admitted as she stopped short of the office. “It’s completely up to you whether you tell her or not about your eyes. I’m not about to ruin your chances Mina but if she asks please be truthful.” She turned to look at her friend and pouted as she saw the look of defeat plastered across her face already. “Hey, smile! It’s not over yet. So, chin up and go in there with a smile!” Momo encouraged as she pulled Mina over to the door. “Also, remember what I said earlier yeah?”
Mina nodded as she recalled Momo’s previous words to her about how to act around her boss. “It’s ok, I remember what you said perfectly.” She admitted before sighing and straightening up. “Right, no time to back out! I’m going to go in there and prove I can do this!”
“That’s the spirit!” Momo smiled as she clapped her hands together. “Right, knock and wait for approval before you enter the office, ok?”
“Yup, understood Yaomomo.” Mina said as she beamed over at the other woman before moving to hug her tight. “Thank you so much for this.” She whispered against her ear.
“My pleasure, go get that job girl!” Momo whispered before pulling away and walking off down the hallway, disappearing from sight.
Mina took a deep breath as she ran a hand through her hair, straightening her shirt as she looked down at herself. She had no idea what she looked like to others, but she was certain if it was bad Momo would have said something. She steadied her breathing as she looked up at the wooden door before her, quirking an eyebrow as she read the name printed across the door. She nodded before extending her hand and rapping on the door, holding her breath as she waited for a reply.
“Enter!”
God, that voice… Mina wasn’t sure if it was just because of the door between them but the voice that called out to her was amazing, it was almost heavenly. Mina shook her head, snapping herself from her thoughts as she grabbed the handle and twisted. She pushed the door open, struggling a bit as she realised the door was heavier than it looked and stepped into the room. She blinked as she shut the door behind her, darkness enveloping her senses and causing panic to stir in her momentarily.
Mina stood by the door as she let her eyes adjust to the room before her, it was extremely dark within and it was a little unsettling for her. She flicked her eyes about, noticing the blinds had been drawn shut and, in her opinion, it gave the office more of a bedroom feel. Her eyes focused on the small lamp that sat illuminating the vast desk of which it sat upon. She too a shaky breath as she noticed someone was sitting at the desk, their figured silhouetted by the lamp as they shifted on their seat.
You watched from your position behind your desk as the woman across the room hesitated by the door, unsure as to whether she should proceed into the darkened office. It wasn’t like it was dark outside or anything like that, you just preferred to sit in the darkness; it brought a strange sense of comfort to you. Your ear flicked towards the woman as she cleared her throat and proceeded to make her way across the room. Your eyes focused on her as she came into the light, her figure was slim but you could see the muscle hidden beneath her clothing. You flicked your ears as she bowed over before you, her face becoming hidden as she lowered her upper body as a sign of respect.
“You seem to have hesitated at the door.” You stated as you leaned back on your seat, watching the woman closely as you tilted your head to the left.
“I had to let my eyes adjust to the room.” Mina whispered as she kept her head bowed, not daring to look up at the woman before her.
“Perhaps this will help then.” You offered, waving your hand about and smirking as the lights came on above; illuminating the room completely. You watched as Mina straightened up, blinking rapidly as she shielded her eyes from the sudden light of the room. “Now, be seated and let us begin.”
Mina nodded as she looked around her, moving to sit in the seat to her right and crossing her left leg over her right. She flicked her eyes over to you as she shuffled back into the seat, gaining comfort before going completely still in her seat. She gasped as she looked you over her, heart stuttering as she allowed your image to sink in. “It’s you!”
“Hmmm?”
Mina screamed internally, this was one of those times she cursed not having a filter between her brain and her mouth! “Ah, I just mean… the photo out in the main area.” She explained quickly as she scrambled to clarify what she was talking about. “The woman under the peach blossom tree, it’s you, right?”
You blinked as you flicked your ears about, quirking an eyebrow as you watched the woman in wonder. “Yes, and it’s (Name) not you!” You stated before sifting through the papers Momo had given you the day before. “You’re Miss Ashido, correct?”
“Um, Mina… Mina will do, please?” Mina corrected as she chewed on the inside of her cheek, her eyes never leaving your face as she stared at you. She wished so deeply that she could see what colour your skin was, what colour your hair really was!
“Mina… you seem to be more than qualified for the position of being my secretary. Miss Yaoyorozu speaks very highly of you as well; I do hope you understand that her recommendation doesn’t guarantee you the position.” There was no hint of play in your voice as you skimmed over her resume in your hand.
“Yes mam, I’m well aware of that.” Mina reassured as she twisted her fingers together, urging her stomach to settle as it twisted violently.
You frowned as you read over her resume, she had been in several jobs just of late; most of which she had only lasted around a month before leaving. It didn’t sit well with you, was this because she was lazy and didn’t want to work or was there something else at play here? You looked over her resume from the beginning again, it seemed as though she had all the skills necessary for the positions she had previously held in her jobs. So, what on earth was it that had lost her the previous jobs?
“Tell me, Mina… I want to know a little bit more about you.” You declared as you placed her resume down, ignoring it as you looked over at the younger woman. “How was it you and Miss Yaoyorozu came to know each other?”
“Momo?” Mina blinked as she relaxed into her seat ever so slightly, not allowing herself to be fooled into comfort just yet. “We met in high school. She was the tall, beautiful girl that all the guys were fawning over but she was a big nerd.” She whispered as she reminisced back to much simpler days.
“That doesn’t answer my question specifically.” You interrupted as you placed your elbows on your desk, tucking your hands under your chin as you leaned forwards and watched the woman. “You’ve given me where but not how.”
“Oh… ah…” Mina laughed as she rubbed the back of her head and looked away from you, her cheeks flushing as she chewed on her bottom lip. “It’s kind of embarrassing really.” She admitted eventually, looking back to you as she smiled sheepishly.
“I’d like to hear it, if you wouldn’t mind, Mina.”
Mina nodded as she smiled and dropped her hand from her hair, twisting it into her shirt as she looked down to your desk. “We met when I beat up a guy who had been harassing her, really I just put him in his place.” She admitted sheepishly ass her hand twisted into her top tighter.
“Embarrassing?” Your voice cut through her thoughts as you watched her curiously. “I fail to see how that is embarrassing! You saved Miss Yaoyorozu the embarrassment of being harassed by a boy. Quite courageous of you.” You complemented as you pushed back into your chair, folding your arms over your stomach. “I see why Miss Yaoyorozu values you so.”
“Momo is too kind for her own good.” Mina whispered as she smoothed out her top properly.
“Oh? Care to explain?”
“Look what she did for me? She bends over backwards for people all the time but never expects any help in return.” Mina shrugged as she smiled and turned her head to the side, her eyes softening as she looked at the photo hanging on the wall. “Momo is like a sister to me; I don’t like seeing her upset.”
“Loyalty.” You whispered as you flicked your ears, your tails swirling to life behind you as you watched Mina.
Mina’s focus on the photo on the wall was shattered when an odd sound reached her ears, whipping her head around instantly to locate the source of the noise. Her eyes widened as she saw your tails bunched up behind you, a couple of them stirring to life as they squirmed about against the floor. She was willing to bet that your tails would have been the same colour as your hair, if only she could tell what colour that would have been.
“Something wrong, Mina?” You interrupted as you curled your tails tighter into one another and hid them again.
“No, your tails are just really pretty.” Mina whispered as she flicked her eyes down to your desk, too embarrassed to look you in the eye after saying the words.
You sighed heavily as you leaned back away from her, your eyes flicking to her resume on your desk. “I hear that quite often; people seem to have a fascination with my tails.” You stated in a dull tone as you flicked your eyes.
“Don’t know why, your face is much prettier.” Mina muttered as she brushed her hand over her knee quickly to straighten out a kink in her pants.
You blinked as your ears flicked straight up, your tails stirring rapidly as you looked over at the woman before you. “You think I’m pretty?”
Mina blushed as she shook her head quickly. “Pretty doesn’t really do justice to you… but you’ve probably heard all of that before.” She admitted as she chewed on her lip, her heart thumping in her chest.
“You hear quite a lot over ten thousand years.”
Mina’s head snapped up as she looked over at you, her eyes finding your face but your own eyes were hidden from her. Your voice had been soft when you had spoken that sentence, soft and filled with a solemn desire. If Mina had to describe the way you looking in that moment, she would paint you as the depiction of sadness and loneliness. Just seeing you in such a state had her heart aching with pain, she had never seen someone so lonely before but then again ten thousand years; anyone would be lonely after that length of time.
“I’m sorry…”
“What for?”
“I made you sad.” Mina whispered as she leaned forwards in her seat, watching you as she pouted.
“I’m not sad, Mina.” You assured her as you looked over at her.
“(Name)!”
Your eyes blew wide as you lifted your head instantly, your tails flicking up off the ground and splaying out behind you. “What did you just say?” You asked in disbelief as you stared across at Mina.
“Your name?” Mina said as she shrugged her shoulders. “You said it before, (Name). Was I not supposed to use it or something?” She asked in confusion, suddenly feeling very uncomfortable in her seat.
You shook your head quickly, blinking back tears as you flicked your ears about. “No… It’s quite alright.” You whispered as a smile graced your lips.
“That’s better, you look much prettier with a smile on your face.” Mina cooed as she smiled over at you, her hands clasping together in her lap as she rocked back into her seat.
“Mina… can I ask you something?” You murmured as your tails wrapped around your body gently.
“Sure, I’m kind of like an open book though and fair warning, most of the time I don’t really have a filter; you’ve probably gathered that by now though.” Mina blurted as she rocked back and forth in her seat, her eyes never leaving your face.
“Why can’t you hold a job? You’ve had six jobs in the same number of months… are you, incapable of holding down a job?” You asked, you didn’t want to dwell on the previous subjects anymore; it was distracting.
Mina stopped rocking in her chair, her smile slipping from her face as she flicked her eyes down towards the ground. “I had some problems with the bosses in my previous jobs… there were things about me that they didn’t like or agree with.”
“Is that so? I take it your hair is one of those things?” You countered as you motioned towards her hair, you felt bad about having made her stop smiling but you needed answers.
Mina blinked as she reached up and patted her hair, smiling as she looked up at it before flicking her eyes over to yours. “Yeah, kind of… I’ve always had it dyed pink, sorry if that bothers you.” She explained as she bowed her head, apologising to you in a respectful manner.
You quirked an eyebrow as you looked up at her hair, you hadn’t been talking about the colour but it was nice to know her hair was pink. It didn’t bother you what style of hair or what colour hair your employees had; it wasn’t like you could see the colours anyway.
“I think it’s still pink…”
You flicked your ear up as you frowned, looking at Mina as she fiddled with her shirt once more. “What did you just say?” You asked as you leaned in towards your desk anxiously, wanting to know whether you had misheard her or not.
“Oh, ah nothing. It doesn’t matter.” Mina rebutted as waved her hand out in front of her face. “By the way are you sitting on a stool?” She asked, an attempt to change the subject away from her momentary brain fart!
You frowned as you sat there, staring at Mina as you crossed your arms over your chest. “Yes, it’s a Yanagi Butterfly stool.” You clarified as you tilted your head to the side, watching as Mina chattered away.
She had definitely said those words, she was unsure as to whether her hair was actually pink or not. You flicked your ears as you looked down at your legs where they were crossed on your stool. Was it possible that Mina didn’t know what colour her hair was? Perhaps she was unable to see the colour of pink and thus she was unsure as to whether her hair was pink or not. There seemed to be more questions now than there were before.
What else did her previous bosses not agree with about her?
Was she colour blind to the colour pink?
Why did your question make her so uncomfortable before?
And why did she deny having said anything just now?
As you pondered over the questions and the possible answers to them, you had completely lost focus on Mina. You flicked your eyes over to her and noticed that she was still yapping away, causing you to smile softly. Your eyes widened as your mind started to trace back over the entire conversation. Mina hadn’t said anything about the colour of your hair, nor your tails. She hadn’t said anything about the colour of the peach blossoms in the photo in the main lobby. It struck you as odd that she hadn’t said anything about the unusual shade of orange the blossoms had taken on that particular year. Momo had been the one to ask you why the petals were orange instead of their characteristic pink, you hadn’t known until then that they had even been orange!
You watched Mina as she stopped talking and looked over at you, your mind was reeling as you thought over everything else that she had said and the history of her employment. It wasn’t just pink! Mina couldn’t see colour; you were certain of it; it was the only explanation as to why so many bosses would fire her. She had an amazing personality; she was cheerful and chatty; no reason for her not to have a job really.
“(Name)?” Mina’s voice was shaky as she watched you, her eyes focused away from your face as she looked panicked.
You blinked as you followed her gaze, without thinking you had reached across the table; your hand outstretched towards Mina’s face. You coughed as you pulled your hand back away from her quickly, hiding it away in your lap before draping one of your tails over your lap. “I apologise for that; I don’t know what came over me.”
“It’s fine, it just came out of nowhere was all.” Mina reassured you as she rubbed the back of her neck. “You know, if you want to touch my hair you only have to ask.”
You frowned as you stood up from your stool quickly, moving away from your desk as your tails swayed behind you. What the hell had come over you? It was almost like your instincts had spurred your body into motion without your realisation. You sighed as you closed your eyes, trying desperately to clear your mind of any and all thoughts. You couldn’t let yourself become deluded with the stupid idea that Mina might be colour blind.
“Hey, (Name)…. Are you ok?” Mina’s voice was soft as she spoke and close, oh so very close.
You turned your head, peering over your shoulder at her as you flicked your ears quickly. There was one way to put your mind to ease and you knew that; the surest way to stop your stupid thoughts from pestering you. You turned your body around slowly, facing Mina as she stood before you and flicked your eyes down to look into hers. “I’m sorry, I have to do this…” You whispered softly as you watched her closely.
Mina was silent as she stared up at you, her eyebrows knit together in confusion as she thought about your words. Had to do what? Why were you apologising to her, you hadn’t done anything wrong! Wait, were you about to say no to her? Tell her she didn’t have the job, had she failed because she talked too much?
“(Name)?”
“Forgive me!”
Your tails flicked about nervously behind you, giving away how you felt as you raised your hand up towards Mina’s face. You couldn’t stop it from shaking, it felt as though your heart was in your throat as it pounded away. Your eyes locked with Mina’s as you pressed your hand against the warmth of her cheek, your breath catching in your throat as you braced yourself. Mina gasped as your hand came into contact with her skin and it hit you; like a wave washing over you; it hit you hard! Your eyes widened in wonder and shock as everything changed, as your mind was thrown into overdrive. GOLD! You had watched the precious metal be welted on several occasions and often wondered what it would really look like; you now knew! It was like looking down into pools of molten gold, Mina’s eyes shining bright as she stared up into your own. You couldn’t bring yourself to look away from those beautiful orbs, the orbs that would forever be your first taste of colour!
Your world blurred as you stared down at Mina, tears slipping from your eyes to land against your cheeks as you leaned into her. You pressed your forehead against hers as you brought your other hand up to cup her face. “Thank you…” Your voice was soft and shaky as you spoke the words, your breath barely there as you struggled to come to terms with your circumstances.
Ten millennia you had lived your life, constantly annoyed and frustrated about not having colour in your life. Ten thousand years of thinking you would forever be alone in this world, trapped in a monochromatic world of your own. You couldn’t help it, there was no containing your tears as your body shook from your sobs. This amazing woman, whose face you held within your hands had given you the ultimate gift; the gift of colour! Her very existence was a gift in itself but the ability to finally see colour was more than you could bare.
“(Name)!” Mina’s arms moved around you as your knees gave out, the two of you sinking to the floor as she pulled you in close to her body. She blinked back her tears as she moved a hand up to touch your hair, it was absolutely beautiful even more so than she had imagined. Her hand shook as she corded her fingers through your hair, the colour of your eyes still burned into her mind as she sat there with you.
“I don’t understand, why can I see colour now?”
You gave out a few laughs as you nuzzled your face into her neck, your hands remaining on her face and refusing to let go. You opened your eyes slowly, taking in what Mina was wearing and letting yourself soak in the colours of your soulmate. She was so beautiful; her hair was the most vibrant shade of pink and her skin was sun-kissed. You pulled away from her tentatively, looking into her eyes as you pulled her face in close to your own.
“It’s you!”
“Me? (Name), you’re not making much sense.” Mina countered as she looked up into your eyes, there was such depth to them and they held so much love for her.
“Kitsune keep it to themselves, but we have soulmates. Each of us is different in the way we find our soulmates. I was born without the ability to see colour; I imagine you would have been the same!” You managed to breath out as you tried desperately to reign in your composure.
“Yes… I was going to tell you but… I was born with Monochromacy, it means I see black and white.” Mina Admitted as her bottom lip jutted out into a pout.
“No, it was because of me! Mina, you are my soulmate!” You quipped as your ears flicked up, your tails stirring to life behind you as you grew more excited. “I’ve lied ten millennia unable to see the beauty of this world and the people around me. I have been waiting all that time for my soulmate to complete me, I had given up hope a long time ago.” You whispered as you leaned down, pressing your forehead against hers and closing your eyes.
“I was born to love you, huh?” Mina mumbled as she tilted her head back a fraction, pressing her nose up against your own as she smiled softly. “Ten thousand years… I’ve made you wait a long time, haven’t I (Name)?” She whispered tenderly as she rubbed her nose with yours.
You hummed in response to her as your tails wrapped around her body, lifting her off the ground and into your lap as you sat there with her. You opened your eyes and were greeted by her golden orbs, a surge of pure adoration washing over you as you let it all sink in. This woman in your arms was yours, she was born to love you while you her and that was precisely what you planned to do.

I’m so confused by the watch your DMs thing but here’s your prompt Nonnie! Hope you like it!

Spirit’s Eve had fallen on Pelican Town within Stardew Valley. Over the years, Elliott had come to love the strange holiday. It often inspired ideas for his book, but he could never get the right story. Instead, he just indulged in the Pumpkin Soup Gus had provided for the occasion as the children of the town ran around in costumes. A few were even begging their parents to let them go into the haunted maze, though several were already inside.
“Is this seat taken?” A voice said softly behind him.
He blinked and looked to see a young man (or was it a girl?) in a kimono with little fox ears and a tail. They blinked at him and Elliott realized he’d yet to respond to this person and blushed at his rudeness. “Oh! Yes–I mean no. Please join us,” He said, smiling. They sat down, leaning forward to eye the food. “Are you new here?”
They smiled at him. “No. I just keep to myself is all,” They said with a grin.
Elliott blushed at the smile, finding it both adorable and a bit intimidating. He spent the whole night speaking with them, enjoying their company. They listened to his ideas for stories and helped him figure out how each could play out.
Not long before midnight, they hummed and looked up at the sky. “It’s so late,” They sighed sadly. “I’ll have to leave soon.”
Elliott frowned and nodded. “I am getting a bit tired.” They then beamed at him. “Uh, yes?”
“Would you like to go in the maze with me? I heard it was a lot of fun!”
Elliott blinked and smiled. “Sure,” He said, standing. He led them into the maze, jumping as the giant fake spiders twitched in the wind. “Ugh. It’s so creepy.”
The fox person groaned. “Yeah, no kidding. Glad they’re fake. I’d cry if there were alive!” They giggled. “C’mon!” They ran ahead and Elliott hesitated before following. As he ran deeper into the maze, the clock in town toned midnight and lights were beginning to shut off. “Oh! Wait, we’re still in here!” He hollored over the whines of the children. Elliott blinked and looked around, trying to see in the dark. “Hey. Where’d they go?”
He blinked as he saw a tail disappearing into a cave and made to follow it. He was met with a bright light and winced, squinting. “Oh, Elliott!” Pierre laughed. “We’re shutting down for the night.”
“Alright. Uh, have you seen that fox…I’m not even sure if they were a boy or girl actually?”
Pierre blinked and frowned. “No, I haven’t. Maybe they left already.”
Elliott hummed as he nodded, heading home. He blinked as the bush by the bridge rustled and a small fox came out. He smiled as it blinked at him before he left, unaware of the new friend he’d made.
