We are actively trapping one who has been hit by a car and some other younger ones who should not be outside. The most work will come in a couple weeks as we start to trap and vet everyone. Right now we are working on the ones who need us most....as always. There are still 4 currently ready to go to adoptive homes or rescue with full vetting if you have the space. We had a very busy day! Please meet our newest nine. Two littlest one (Mac & Cheese) were found under some construction materials and found themselves quickly abandon by their mom. Leehi was the last kitten in a litter of three who didn't quite fit in among the other outdoor kitties. We caught her playing in the tall grass and didn't feel this tiny baby should stay outdoors. Neopolitan has been a baby factory and is far too skinny to allow this to continue. Her babies kept dying as she would move on to her next pregnancy. The 5 kittens are fighting to survive since their mom wasn't producing while she has been sick and stressed out. They have an extreme upper respiratory infection and weigh under a pound. All of these need us. We're here and working hard to save them all. What can we use in a time like this, with a project like this? This beauty is Stitches. Stitches was shot through her arm and had the bullet lodged down into her side. We had the bullet removed and her leg had to go with it. It was shattered. Stitches is a little over a pound and ready to start recovery in foster care. She's rambunctious and loving. She was equally excited to reunite with her sister this morning. Lilo and Stitches are an adorable team. Please meet Lilo. Lilo is ADORABLE. We had no idea how adorable she would be before we agreed to take her, but boy do we feel lucky! Lilo is the sister to Stitches, who is currently staying the weekend at our vet to recover from having a leg amputated and a bullet removed. When the caretaker decided to surrender Stitches at the vet office, she let us know about her sister who was living under the house. The caretaker retrieved the sister and found two more kittens who didn't make it. The momma kitty is getting fixed next week, so she won't have to go through this anymore. Thank goodness. Lilo is a precious girl and headed to foster so she can wait for Stitches to join her on Monday. Welcome, Lilo.
