Hey Kirri!! :D SO, I was at Bottlerock, and Dave said at one point, something along the lines of, "We're gonna play some old stuff, maybe some new stuff... Because we may have recorded an entire album and haven't told anyone... But that'd be crazy, wouldn't it? pffft..." *later* "We're so glad to be back playing these big rock shows... And I promise, there's gonna be a LOT more of this in the next few months..." So 100% new album and tour like, SOON.

Y’know that bit in How I Met Your Mother where they give Marshall shit for not being able to wink? Dave and his attempts at subtlety.

The suddenness of it all. For someone to be here one minute, for us to be so sure of it and comforted by it, and then…done. It’ll never stop sucking. Chris, though. I was saying to Alex, it didn’t even occur to me that he could check out early. He was (was, fuck) the image of vitality to me.

I sadly never got to see him (he was here just recently and I skipped it like a chump) and i’ll never pretend to have had the devotion to him that people like yourself have had, but his gift was unquestionable. I wish I could offer something more than a block of text on a pissy little blog right now. Be together. Love him and each other extra hard.

To explain why it was so unexpected, an Aussie sale -

Assistant: “Would you like to subscribe? You get exclusive discounts and (insert perks here).”

You: “Nah, I think i’ll give it a miss this time, thanks.”

Assistant: “No worries. Cash or card?”

A lot of times on these late night shows, questions are presented by either the guests themselves to outline exactly what they want to talk about and points they want to hit so I’m sure they were looking over that and like you said, the outline of the show!

Right. I figured they had already settled on what questions he’d be asking them before the night of filming, but maybe not. Considering it is a daily (or rather, nightly) show, plans like that may be made somewhat last minute. Probably helps keep it from seeming obviously rehearsed (just seeming rehearsed to the people who are really familiar with them and how they sound un-rehearsed, of course).
