A/N: I was listening to From the start by Laufey while doing this, now I'm tempted to write an entire fic based off that song alone

shy!Borsalino who can't bring himself to ask you to accompany him on a simple mission, so he has Garp ask you on his behalf.

shy!Borsalino who found out your favorite sweet treat from Vice Admiral Doll, so every morning he puts it on your desk. You always ask around about who did it, but nobody seems to know.

shy!Borsalino who gets nervous when all the admirals gather for a meeting. He never hears the full report or attack plan because he's always staring at you in a daze.

shy!Borsalino who finds himself getting hot and bothered whenever you say his name to ask him a question. His heart skips a beat and his pants get tighter. He has to try his best not to melt in front of you.

shy!Borsalino who preferred not to use his devil fruit so carelessly in front of you. He doesn't want you to think he's some violent brute. So when you two are on missions together he tries to use close range combat, hoping to impress you in the process.

shy!Borsalino who loves how strong you are, but oh, how he would love to be your knight in shining armor just once. He wants a reason to carry you off into the sunset.

shy!Borsalino who finally got the courage to ask you on a mission himself, fumbling on his words and avoiding eye contact.

"The umm, weather is really nice today~ and... Admiral Y/N would you- it's completely fine if not- umm but if you don't, have a mission today, I- would you- join me today?"

shy!Borsalino who hates the idea of another guy talking to you but can't bring himself to claim you as his. Watching from afar as other marines pine and swoon over you. It breaks his heart seeing everyone but him openly admire your beauty, it makes him feel weak.

shy!Borsalino who starts to send you fresh bouquets of sunflowers and royal sunset lilies to your desk every week or so, once again gaining info from Doll, after he asked her what your favorite flowers are.

shy!Borsalino who is a stuttering mess when you decide to corner him in his office, since you find out he's the one sending flowers and desserts, after Doll let it slip that he asked her for the info, helping you put two and two together. He almost breaks down in tears when you embrace him and thank him for all the gifts, leaving a small kiss on his cheek. It feels like a weight has been lifted off his chest.

shy!Borsalino who now comes to your office and sits with you while you work on reports, helping you if you need it. But always finding himself sitting on the other end of the of the room, still a nervous wreck whenever he gets too close to you.

shy!Borsalino who loses his composure when you sit on his lap at the bar. You've had one too many drinks and he's the first person you run to, he can't help but brush his hands up and down your body, bringing himself to a nervous mess.

shy!Borsalino whose cheeks get red and hot when he finds himself thinking about you up under him. Not realizing the thoughts are causing him to rapidly tap his foot while you work, prompting you to sit by him to see if he's okay, "Everything okay Admiral?" You ask softly, "is somethin' bothering you?"

shy!Borsalino who didn't mean to disturb your work and apologizes again and again. You cup his face and tell him everything is okay, and for the first time he gets to see your beautiful face up close, so very close. Darting his gaze back and forth between your eyes and lips, you can hear his heart rate picking up, foot tapping involuntarily once again, and you can't help but tell him how cute he is when he's nervous.

The amount of hate Usopp gets pisses me off so bad man. I'm only in Marineford but the amount of awful shit takes I see about his character is so gross.

I feel so maternal towards him. He's so brave.

And the way so many people justify their hatred towards him using "I can't forgive him for water 7" like, if your brain didn't operate at 3rd grade level then yeah, you're going to see that as "betrayal" when it's so clear why he did that and why he felt the way he did.

For one, nobody will admit it, but I know for a fact some peoples hatred towards him is rooted in racism, but we'll get into that another time.

But on on top of all that, I think the main reason is that Usopp is the most relatable character to the audience and I think it reminds people just how much they wouldn't be able to handle being a situation where they are surrounded by so many people stronger than them. EVEN STILL Usopp managed to make it so far and he's been able to stand alone in certain situations and survive with just a slingshot and a dream. His captain is a literal Sun God. And he still stands beside him.

Let there ever be a moment where Luffy needs him to take someone down, Usopp will absolutely do everything he can no matter how scared he may be.

Saying usopp needs to be the Straw Hat to sacrifice himself because hes "useless" is insane, and also, AS IF Luffy would even let that happen. Luffy could barely handle when Usopp left in Water 7, do you think, especially with his gear 5 powers, he would let Usopp sacrifice himself? Be so fr.

Unfortunately I will always advocate for black and brown characters in anime, we get erased enough as it is, ESPECIALLY black characters... and even one piece is guilty of whitewashing 100000%

Look at what they did to Zoro, Robin, Usopp, even Luffy has been whitewashed ts isn't normal lmfaooo
