The Shy Hero and the Assassin Princesses episodes 4-12
I really enjoyed what this show grew into. It started with the female leads taking turns against Toto but developed into how this whole group bonded and started to genuinely care for each other - even if the edge of the premise never fully left.
The humour was fun and silly. It is very fanservice heavy but I'm fine with that in context. In this case it was in line with the humour of the show.
There isn't any grand antagonist. While the party start to go on proper quests, what you care for is them as a group and seeing them experience new things together - Ciel especially for the latter.
Goa was my personal favourite, though I did also enjoy Anemone and Ciel. Toto also took steps towards character development and I was very happy about how actively involved he was as the show progressed.
The Shy Hero and the Assassin Princesses episode 3
This was a fun episode. I like that we not only got Toto's time alone with each Goa and Anemone, but also their bonding time with Ciel while the other was with Toto. It's also nice how they have all developed so much faith in Toto that they're completely unconcerned about the others taking their turn to try and kill him.
The difference between Goa's turn and Anemone's turn fit very well with their personalities and skillsets. There were also some little insights into the characters' backstories, including Toto's when Anemone asked about his scar. I wonder if this format will rotate for a bit or if it will deviate soon.
This is a comedic show, but I am enjoying the character dynamics the most for far and I'm looking forward to how that will shape the plot going forward.
The Shy Hero and the Assassin Princesses episode 2
This one continues to be quite fun. I'm happy to see Toto getting to do more this episode, I hope that continues and builds. I like the girls' decision to take turns with their assassination attempts, it straightens out some of the chaos that was at risk of being repetitive and we'll likely get to see more of them unintentionally bonding with each other and one-on-one with Toto.
I also appreciate that Goa's inappropriate jokes and references are going clean over young Ciel's head. Goa has turned out to be very knowledgeable and full of useful practical information. I'd say that she's my favourite of the girls so far, but there's a lot left to learn about them all still.
