“But, don’t you think it’s a bit boring to do a job without anything to motivate you? Actually, a gratitude can motivate someone. And without it, there will be no motivation to do so.”
Quite a logic from someone with lethargic nature just like Asuha. For spending her time doing a job that actually brought misfortune to her, without being thanked, and it also costs her friend’s life, she felt that it’s kind of meaningless. All that she did is to protect the city because that’s her job. Being thanked by Chiba teenagers who fight on her side would make her pump up and did her job gratefully. Though, seems like adults don’t understand her.
Slight frustration and sadness were shown on her usually stoic expression. She kept saying that Tokyo has nothing to do with her, but to think that there are only four people instead of six--with the other one had to lock himself in his room after losing someone so important--in the Tri-City meeting room, it felt strange.
“So, even if that job costs someone’s life, although it kept people from being ambushed, would people still not being grateful? Isn’t that too rude?”

After a full day of cool adventures Luffy was heading back to Sunny, but on the way a mystery plant spit on him, coating his arm in a gooey, blue-green substance. Shaking his arm and pulling at it did nothing, so the rubber pirate was left with nothing to do but leave it stuck on his arm.
However it got really annoying really fast and just when he was debating on trying to get it off himself again, he saw Drake nearby.
“Oiiii! Hey!!!!” And he’s waving his non-gooey arm in an attempt to get the other’s attention. “Help me get this thing off me! For some reason it won’t come off but it’s really annoying!!!”

This new island was really great for exploring, there were a bunch of funny-looking trees and other plants! Chopper was excited when they docked and was one of the first to leave ( something about research? ) but Luffy was never one to lag behind and also went exploring soon after.
Currently he was sitting on the top-most branch of a tree, looking as far as he could to see if there was anything particularly interesting that would catch his eye. However just as he thought he made out what looked like a ship on the other side of the shore, the branch he was perched on snapped and he fell straight to the ground.
“Ah, that surprised me...” He sat back up easily ( being rubber of course he wouldn’t have felt any pain ) only to find himself looking at another person, someone very familiar in fact.
“EH!!!! You’re — What are you doing here?!” And there is a face he wasn’t expecting to see anytime soon.

It was the smell that caught his attention first, and in a manner that wasn’t unlike him, he followed his nose to wherever the tantalizing aroma lead him. From the smell of it there seemed to be an array of ingredients being cooked, however Luffy was most concerned about the multiple ( multiple! ) varieties of meat that he could make out.
His stomach was growling already.
It wasn’t long before he navigated his way out from the forest into a small clearing, and he immediately spotted the pot of food that guided him here.
“That smells so good!! Can I have some?!!” And he didn’t recognize the person who was tending to the pot, ( not that he actually looked long enough when his eyes were so focused on the food ) but he was hungry, and wasn’t thinking about manners ( but then again, when did he ever ).
