This photo was taken during my hike up to Esja. Mount Esja, a large mountain range, is the “city-mountain” of Reykjavík and dominates the skyline to the north of the capital of Iceland. Mount Esja is 914 m and is accessible the whole year. The (easy, but partly steep) path all the way up is clearly marked and the total length of the route (one way) to and from the parking lot is 8 km or 5 miles. The panorama view on the top is not very photogenic, but there are great photo spots along the trail.
