Day One: Achievement/Hallmark -> AO3
“How did it come to this?” Kurt whined as he lay across the couch, arm flung over his eyes dramatically.
“You know usually you see landing a role in a movie as an achievement.” Blaine remarked as he finished loading the dishwasher, smirking a little at his husband’s theatrics.
“Not a Hallmark Christmas movie. Which we’re shooting in July. I mean, I’m all for scarves and pea coats, but not when New York is in the middle of a heat wave.”
“Well your suffering will be paying for part of the surrogacy fee, so you’ll just have to hope the outfits are fashionable enough that you get to keep them at the end.” Blaine leaned down and pressed a kiss to Kurt’s forehead. “Now go knock ‘em dead.”
“If I don’t die of heat stroke first.” Kurt grumbled. “Love you.”
“Love you too.”
Filming a made for TV movie was long, exhausting and extremely hot, even with all the fans to keep the fake snow (and the actors) cool. Kurt had never come to resent wool so much as he did by the time the wrap party rolled around. Plus they didn’t even get to snag any of the festive scarves that weren’t overly hideous.Yet he kept thinking about how come next Christmas he’d hopefully be spending it with his first child, and this movie was helping make that a reality.
After the movie aired, Kurt asked for Blaine’s opinion as the credits scrolled by. “Well it was cheesy, and predictable, but you did a great job, so achievement there.” He pressed a kiss to Kurt’s cheek. “I’m sure that our future spawn will delight in teasing you about it every year, as this will surely be a Anderson-Hummel holiday tradition.”
In years to come, every Christmas without fail, Audrey would always ask for “Papa’s Christmas movie” causing Blaine to cackle and Kurt to let out a beleaguered sigh...right before putting it on. Even if it was dated and awful, he would always be grateful, as without it, the giggling little girl before him might not even exist. And that made it all worth it.
Happy Holidays y'all! I'll be sending a bunch of these out in card trades if anyone would be interested!
IT WOULD HAVE BEEN THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR
So I know it's after the holidays, but I just thought of a way Ryan COULD HAVE GIVEN US A KLAINE CHRISTMAS DUET. He could have worked a deal with the Ellen show, where at the end of a December episode, she could have mentioned how much fan mail and fan vids she gets each week, but one recent submission stood out - and she could have shown a cute homemade video of Kurt and Blaine singing and dancing around Kurt's NY apartment with Blaine on the piano he gave them, something like the Andy Williams version of The Most Wonderful Time of the Year. It could have been edited by Artie Abrams. Ellen could have played along like it was real, right before she says 'be kind to one another' and ended the show and there would have been a KLAINE CHRISTMAS DUET RIOT and they could have released it on iTunes. It could have been a surprise release with no warning, and Klaine fans would have been ECSTATIC but no, Ryan has no more creativity left in him.
A special pic just for Klainemas. Blaine is just so proud of his purchase after Kurt left the holiday decorating to him. Have a merry (Klissing) Klainemas!
Consider this blog officially KLAINEMASIFIED!
MERRY KLISSMAS! MERRY CHRISMAS! MERRY CRISSMAS! AND 12 days full of love, love, love. See what I did there :3 MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
Klaine Advent Calendar Day 8 - Human
Enjoy! (:
Blaine walked into his office and flicked on the light, he'd had a wonderful vacation over Christmas with Kurt and the kids. They'd spent the holiday with Burt and Carole in Ohio and the family atmosphere always made Blaine smile.
He got the coffee machine fired up and starting brewing his second cup of the day, sitting at his desk to wait, turning on the computer. He started to arrange things on his desk when he looked at a stack of envelopes sitting on the corner of his desk.
Christmas Cards.
The exact cards he'd promised Kurt he would mail two weeks prior, he'd been busy on the last day at the office and it had totally slipped his mind.
He face palmed and flipped through the envelopes, looking at the names of his friends he'd forgotten to mail cards to, most being friends he barely talked to but always made sure to send cards throughout the holidays.
He pulled out his phone to call Kurt, knowing that he couldn't hide it from Kurt,
"Hello?" Kurt answered surprisingly, he was working on bridesmaids dresses for a last-minute post-holiday order.
"Kurt honey, it's me,"
"Oh! Hi Bee," Blaine could hear the smile in Kurt's voice,
"Uh... I have some bad news,"
"What's that?" Kurt said nonchalantly, clearly really into his work.
"You know those Christmas Cards you told me to send?"
"Uh-huh,"
"They're kinda sitting on my desk... I'm really sorry! I just got busy honey and I-"
Kurt chuckled, "Don't worry about it honey, I knew you'd forgotten and gave some out while we were on holiday, I knew there was a possibly it would slip your mind, and you're only human."
Blaine sighed in relief, feeling tension release from his body,
"You Kurt Hummel-Anderson are one smart man, the one I'm so very happy to call my husband."
Kurt giggled on the other end, "Well, Blaine Hummel-Anderson, I'm proud to call you my husband as well, even if you are forgetful, you're human and that's all I ask for, someone perfectly imperfect."
