i found my crochet hook (!!) after years of it being lost in the void that is the general junk around my house and i vaguely remember how to use it soo im wondering if u have any favourite patterns that would be easy-ish to learn?? any good sites to find tutorials???? tho i only have pink and (very little) turquoise yarn on me so im limited to how many colours i can use unfortunately ://

Oh my god okay hold up because I actually have this Planned, so!!!

Dan and Matt have been dating for 2 years already, they are also friends with Seth (have been since third year of high school)

They meet Allison at a party Seth DJs for and they bond over illegal activities such as graffiti and skating

Like a week later Dan meets Renee because she crashes into her while skating down the street, turns out Renee is super sweet and super badass and charming all around, so Dan introduces her to Matt, Seth and Alli

Some time after that they're hanging around at the skate park when some new people arrive: the twins and Nicky!! Renee and Andrew bond over art; Seth, Matt and Aaron bond over memes, and everyone adores Nicky becaus he's funny and kind and everything nice (also his bf's cooking skills are good as fuck)

Kevin comes months later, shunned away from the Ravens, the Foxes' rival gang, skateboard (and heart) broken (thankfully the foxes fix him up bit by bit)

M o n t h s later Andrew meets Neil by accident because he sees him sleeping near the park at night, they talk for hours and the next morning he's properly introduced to the squad + given a plain skateboard (its ok because later Andrew would paint it)

The actual AU starts 4 years after Neil and Andrew meet, so yeah, they're one big family by the time the AU is set!!

(All the meetings happen in the span of like 2 years)

MATTNEIL

Matt is big.This is not a surprise (and no, he’s not talking about that, Nicky, thank you). Neil is lying on the dormitory carpet and his brain is flying apart and sticking to the walls, and that’s what it has, apparently, decided to focus on.“Matt,” he says.“Yeah?” Matt looks up from the fridge and turns to him, his face inquisitive. Matt is so open with his emotions. Maybe that’s why Neil doesn’t have to find words for his own around him.“Matt,” Neil repeats, louder. Because he needs– something. He can’t. He–“Can you,” he says.“Over here,” he says.“Lie on top of me?” he forces out, and it’s stupidstupidstupid when he puts words to it but he just–needs that. He needs to know Matt is here with his body, because his mind isn’t here for him right now.“Sure, man,” Matt says, all easy. He closes the fridge and lopes over, long lopsided strides because he’s comfortable, because he’s home (Matt is always home because Matt IS home), and crouches down beside Neil. Already Neil feels more present, feeling Matt’s body heat. “Right here?”“Can’t move,” Neil admits. Pleads. He could get up now for Exy, but not anything else. Matt’s eyes are so deepdarkbrown and they’re the only thing that makes any sense right now.“Okay,” Matt says, so so softly. He swings a leg over Neil’s and lets down his weight in scientific gradations, making sure he’s not crushing Neil at all. Neil sighs happily when Matt is flush on top of him. His brain is on the walls but his body is here, safe, under Matt, and nothing bad will happen to it now.Matt murmurs something Neil doesn’t process and kisses the side of his head, just above his ear. Neil brings dazed fingertips up to rest on Matt’s back, firm and solid and there. Sometimes Neil forgets he’s a real person. Matt is always there to remind him that Neil Josten exists.
