With living legend traveling pianist Davide Martello aka #klavierkunst , the virtuoso musician probably best known for his masterful street piano performances in conflict zones around the world, but these days just delighting the ears of listeners on a coast to coast road trip across the USA, making one of his recent stops in Albuquerque in the Land of Enchantment, New Mexico. it's always a joy to utilize our social media as a platform to highlight other musical discoveries, and Davide is without doubtt one of the most remarkable. A classically trained German pianist of Italian descent -- his stage name in German translates to "piano art" -- he was something of a prodigy and has an uncanny knack for adapting tunes developed on all manner of other instruments to the more linear chord structure of the piano while maintaining every ounce of the song's melodic richness and even much of the original instrument's tmbre, whether drawing from the classical repertoire or from Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, or other current pop icons. I'm holding his CD in this picture and it's definitely something of a lifesaver on excessively long and sleep-inducing cross-state road trips. I'll be posting up more of his material including a short video sample of his piano virtuosity, so stay tuned.
