Can't wait for the scene in Iron Lung where Mark gives an emotional speech on the verge of tears while By Lake Surprise blasts in the background.
Orion I :: Peter Sandberg
Confesso di non aver mai sentito la parola “dismantle”, poi ho capito tutto e mi è bastato ascoltare.
Songs from Stranger Things that never fail to make me cry when I hear them
Deep by Peter Sandberg (The song that plays during Hopper’s letter)
Aftermath by Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein (I knew that song was gonna f*** me up, when it was released before the season came out.... And it did more than I thought it would)
Eulogy by Michael Stein and Kyle Dixon (So many sad things have become associated with this song. El’s supposed death in S2, Barb’s death, and Bob’s death. It does me in every single time)
Heroes by Peter Gabriel (It plays when they find Will’s “dead body” in S1 and then it plays after Hopper’s letter is read, and when we see the Byers home for the last time. It reminds me that nothing is ever gonna be the same again)
When It’s Cold I’d Like To Die by Moby (This song plays during S1, when Hopper and Joyce save Will. It’s like muscle memory. I spent so many rewatches sobbing during that scene, that now I can’t hear it without all those emotions flooding back)
To those who were wondering, the song used in Who Killed Markiplier, Wilford Motherloving Warfstache, and DAMIEN
Edit: and now In Space with Markiplier
Mama Owl help! I really love the last song in WKM but I can't find it anywhere but youtube and I want it bad, but I don't want to download it illegally. Help?
You’ve come to the right place, Owlet! I know I’m a little late in answering this, but I hope I’m not too late to help.
First of all, thank you for not wanting to download any tracks illegally. Supporting artists of all kinds is really important, and I’m glad you’re wanting to do your part!
The reason you can’t find the track you’re looking for is because you’re probably looking under the wrong name.
Dan the Music Man put up an awesome video tutorial for the song, which is where most people found the name of it. In the description, Dan calls it “Who’s There 2″ by Peter Sandberg. And he’s right! But that’s only one of the titles. That title, specifically, is the one used when the song is available on stock music websites. That’s why you’re only finding it on Youtube, which I imagine isn’t giving you the audio quality you want.
If you want to listen to it, its proper name is “By Lake Surprise”, from the album Blue Brooks. It’s on Spotify and a few other places. I follow the composer on Instagram, and it looks like Spotify is his biggest platform, so if you want to support him, that’s the best place to listen to it!
Peter Sandberg is a great composer-- right up there with Dustin O’Halloran as one of my favorites. If you like this song, you should consider taking a look at his other works (which are also on Spotify!). I highly recommend the entire Implode album if you’re looking for something with the same emotional tone as the finale of Who Killed Markiplier.
Happy listening, dear Anon! If you end up listening to another song you enjoy, make sure you swing back by my ask box and let me know. I listen exclusively to instrumentals when I write, so my Spotify is chock full of thousands of ‘em, and I’m always happy to chat about it! Or any music. Or anything, really. I’m just happy to chat. So don’t be afraid to drop on by again!
Have a lovely day!
