"What?” Morgan asked laughing. “No, I wouldn’t.”

“Yeah you would.”

“No I wouldn’t.”

“Yeah you would but that’s okay. I would still like you”

“Gee thanks.”

“No problem.”

Klingenmoe: Moe dealing with Cheney not being there and Kling confronting her.

“Moe, it’s been months. Cheney’s not coming back,” Kling said, exasperation lacing her tone. She took the melted back of ice from Moe’s outstretched hand. “Do you need another one?”

“No,” Moe sighed sadly. “I just want Cheney to come make me feel better.”

“Well Cheney is prego and living it up in New Orleans, so that’s not happening. You know this. Plus you’re fine. You barely got fouled. It’s just a bruise,” Kling argued, clearly annoyed by Moe’s clingy antics.

“Are you kidding me? I completely flipped upside down! I’m going to have a gigantic bruise. And now everything hurts! God, you’re no help,” Moe shot back, scowling at the defender. She crossed her arms over her chest and pouted.

“What do you want me to do dude? Cheney’s not here. You want to call her?” Kling asked, throwing her hands in the air in frustration.

“No,” Moe sighed again. “I don’t want to bother her.”

“Oh my god Moe. You’re being ridiculous,” Kling muttered, placing her hands on her hips and staring down the midfielder. “Can I get someone else to mother you instead?”

“Like who?” Moe scoffed.

“I don’t know, like JJ?” Kling asked, coming up with the first name she could think of.

“JJ?!? No! She’s like a year older than me!” Moe exclaimed, shaking her head.

“Dude, fine. What about Carli? Or Hope?” Kling pressed.

“God no and GOD NO!” Moe practically squealed. “They are like the least motherly on the whole team.”

“Yeah tell that to Kelley,” Kling muttered.

“Still! No. I can’t even imagine,” Moe told her, shaking her head again.

“Ugh, fine. Jesus, all the moms are gone. No Cheney, no Pearcie, no ARod, No Boxxy. Fuck this is harder than I thought,” Kling lamented.

“Don’t I know it,” Moe whined.

“God Morgan. Ok, what about Becky? Becky is supportive,” Kling suggested, holding her hand out hopefully in Moe’s direction.

“Becky is supportive…” Moe trailed off, clearly weighing this option, but ultimately shook her head. “But, she’s supportive in a ‘get off your ass’ way, not a motherly way.”

“Jesus Moe. Ok, what about Ali?” Kling asked. Moe cocked her head at the suggestion. “Yeah, what about Ali? Ali is certainly caring and motherly! She’s like the ultimate wine mom. She could totally make you feel better. And you better find a replacement, because Cheney ain’t coming back.”

Moe shot Kling a dirty look before returning to her pondering. “Um, yeah. Ali’s really supportive, in a motherly kinda way. She could work possibly. As long as she doesn’t bring Ash,” Moe finally agreed.

“Oh thank god,” Kling muttered. “You want me to go get her?”

“Yes, please,” Moe nodded thankfully.

“You’re fucking ridiculous you know that?” Kling said over her shoulder as she made her way to the door.

“And you’re crap at making me feel better,” Moe shot back.

Kling rolled her eyes as she opened the door, wondering how exactly she was going to explain this to Ali.
