The Plot for the day is...
After the mess with Klofange and Dyris, the Xiaolin monks never wanna even hear the word mermaid again. Unfortunately they don't get the pleasure.
While after another Wu in the arctic ocean, they once again stumble upon a being stuck in the ice. Ends up there had been a lot more going on between Dyris and Klofange than they knew, as this new little mer was apparently their son. Mom had wanted to flood the world so her baby could go anywhere, dad knew that was a horrible idea. And little Jack got caught in the middle.
As if he wanted to have to swim around the whole planet. He much preferred building things. He's also rather vain and refuses to leave the water, ever. Jack didn't know if he'd have a monster form or not given his mixed parentage, but he'd rather not find out if he did.
Not trusting this merman, the monks drag him back to the temple and keep him in the same pool they kept Dyris. He was cute, sure, but he was also obnoxious and unable to cast the same charms on them that his mother had. So Jack gets stuck in a tiny pool guarded 24/7 with NOTHING to do. The whines of boredom finally drive the monks to bring him toys and stuff to play with, but he gets bored with that too.
One day while Kimiko is guarding him, her computer crashes. Jack manages to convince her to let him see it. He'd dry his hands a bit then get to work and wow! How'd you do that? You've been frozen in ice for centuries! shrug Fixing and building things just came easy to him. He'd only needed to examine the computer a bit to figure it all out.
Suddenly, Jack is made the new fix it guy for all the monks random broken junk. He tolerates this for a bit before he starts refusing. He wants to make his OWN things! He wants to leave this damned pool and actually swim! But the monks are still burned from their encounter with Dyris and still don't trust Jack.
Enter a cunning Bean who offers a deal to the trapped mer. He can give Jack a human form, allow him to leave the pool and no fear of turning beastly and hideous from exposure to the air. All he wants is an undisclosed favor at a later date.
“We'll just say ya owe me one.”
“Why would you want to help me?”
“why I been lookin' out for you kid. Consider me your guardian angel.”
Having seen things stranger, Jack accepts the excuse AND the offer. Bean tells him all he has to do is step out of the water to turn human before leaving saying he'd come back for his favor later. “you go enjoy yourself, now.”
Excited, Jack finds out Bean’s right and goes to find the monks who, though asleep, didn’t stay that way long when a very loud and very naked Jack barges in on them. Jack gets involved in the conflict by accident, wanting to follow the monks as they go Wu hunting and ending up with one himself.
Stuff happens, eventually Bean comes to cash in on his favor. He convinces Jack if he doesn't do what Bean tells him, that he'll turn him back into the disgusting monster he should have been out of water. Jack really doesn't wanna help Bean or steal from his tentative friends, but he wants to be a nasty freak even less so does as he's told. Stealing the chest of the blind swordsman and delivering it to Bean.
Obviously the monks get pissed off and rage at Jack for being a traitor, and Jack breaks and spills the whole story, chase is there too 'cause a more powerful Bean is bad news for him too, and he boxes the young half-siren’s ears. “You buffoon! How could you fall for such an obvious trick?”
Ends up because he's only a half, Jack NATURALLY turns human out of the water. Neither he nor his parents had ever tried to find out. Bean had been lying the entire time!! Now Jack is pissed. Not only had he been tricked but he fucked up his very first friendships because he'd been so gullible!!
Enraged, he confronts Bean. Bean simply laughs at him and thanks him for being an easy pawn. After all, what's Jack gonna do about it anyway? A lot apparently. Turns out he ALSO had a monster form, it just wasn't automatic. And he's so pissed off at Bean that when Bean turns to hop away, Jack shifts without even realizing it and catches the damned legume in his claws, squeezing the little Bean with all his might.
Bean is caught off guard. After all he thought Jack wouldn’t have a monster form, but he's actually getting hurt being crushed to death and calls uncle for Jack to let him go. Jack snatches the chest back and flicks Bean far away (Yingying catches him he swears revenge the usual)
No longer being as pissed off, Jack goes back to human form (still out of water after all), his clothes are shredded but he doesn't care, he fixed his mistake. At this point the monks come barreling in to save Jack thinking he'd be toast against Bean, and relieved to see he isn't. Even happy since the box is back!
“uh, but dude… why are you naked?” Jack blushes and brushes them off. They return to the temple victorious.
Let me know if you write it~!
