Thanks to the lovely wife, last evening we were able to attend the FYC Emmy event for “The Orville”. This was a full court press for Emmy consideration. Once they concluded the traditional episode screening and Q&A with the production crew, they opened up the sound stages and let folks roam around The Orville standing sets. Key production crew members were there to talk with attendees about their various departments. It was a fantastic night only made better by getting to spend time with old pals like Howard @hoops511 Berger! Thanks Howard for introducing us around and spending time with us. Happy 50th to Star Trek! This is my little piece of Trek-adjacent lore. While at KNB in the late 90's, I had the pleasure of sculpting the head and hands for this display model of the Salt Vampire from the first televised episode of Trek 50 years ago tonight, "The Man Trap". In addition to the Vampire we also built an impressive Gorn. They were part of a themed display for a Paramount Store similar to the old Warner Bros. Studio Store. Unfortunately, the operation folded before we were able to create more figures.
