Okay guys so something amazing happened last night at a hotel near me.
Ireland's strict anti-abortion laws are unbelievable. Since 2012, there has been a much more prominent debate over them due to the death of an Indian woman after she was refused an abortion.
These laws come from Ireland's position as a catholic country, applying the law to non-Catholics and forcing those who want an abortion to often travel to England. The cost of travel and the abortion itself has meant that this is not an option for some women.
The lack of choice has sparked protests and debates not just in Ireland but London, Brussels and Berlin outside the Irish Embassies.
At a Fine Gael fundraiser, the Irish Taoiseach Enda Kenny was served a pair of knickers with the proposition of repealing the 8th amendment of the Irish Constitution which is at the centre of the abortion debate.
Being able to see the embarrassment and discomfort over the issue, hopefully, will drive the issue home to those who aren't acknowledging it.
He wanted a proposition and he got it.
