guys ok. I’m sorry but I wanna talk about how internalized homophobia coded early trophy is because idk if I’m just on a different side of tumblr or what but I’m not seeing people talk about it yk?

(Just saying before I get into this, none of this is canon and I do NOT want any of this to be canon because canon trophy is currently getting better and I really like where they’re taking him, this is just my own little angst slop cause I like seeing him sad or something)

ok so I really like the idea of Trophy bullying knife for being ‘girly’ because he refused to come to terms with his own homosexuality, specifically his attraction towards Knife. This caused him to not only never confess to knife even after season two, both still bitter (and in my head, this interpretation of Knife wouldn’t have feelings for trophy past maybe being like “I’d kiss him if he wasn’t awful” yk) about season two. After the events of episode 5, Trophy’s feelings got less “he wants that cookie so bad” and more “I depend on the idea of being with you but know I can’t” as well as like some form of ptsd-esk fear but he refuses to admit either of those atp. He hadn’t spoken to knife at all since that day, and ended up never saying anything before the boat left the island. As of season 4 hes more come to terms with his sexuality (bisexual headcanon) but HASNT come to terms with his feelings towards knife. Eventually, mostly to cope, he gets with (I’ll let you choose your poison, Tissues, Jack, Cheesy, or Box, depending on your favorite ship). At some point earlier on in their relationship he calls them Knife. When asked about it he gets defensive, but eventually opens up and apologizes. They talk it out, and Trophy starts to accept that he’ll never get a chance to make it right with Knife, and the only thing he can do is make things right with the crowd hes currently in.
