"Picking you up. Be ready in ten." Was all Billy said into the phone to Stu before he hung up. There was no arguing with him anyways and he knew Stu would know by his tone that something had happened at home. His dad was an asshole and things got bad so Billy did what he always did and ran to Stu. He grabbed a bag and enough clothes off the floor for a few days before walking out to his car without a word to his father. He sure enough made it to Stu's in less than ten minutes and pulled up in the driveway as he chain smoked cigarettes to calm down. "We're going to rent a movie and get fucking trashed tonight." He said once his best friend was in the car.

it’s not a date. Tatum thinks that’s pretty obvious. The only reason they’re doing this is because Sidney bailed on movie night (presumably to make out with Billy) and Tatum, who absolutely refuses to spend Saturday night alone on principle, had called Stu over. (And she’s pretty sure he’s still dating Casey with the awful bangs, so.)

Tatum is wearing lip gloss and a tight top for movie night because hey, you never know, right?

"What do you want to watch?” she calls from the kitchen. “Sid was going to bring over Top Gun, but I’m guessing you’re less interested in Tom Cruise than I am.”

          when he’s not playing with       the  band,   the  arcade  is   one  of  his  most  frequented  after  school  spots.     marty  stands  poised  in  front  of  the  shooter,   holding  the  plastic  gun  and  pointing  it  at  the  screen  with  form  that  says  i’ve  done  this  a  million  times.      it’s  only  then  that  he  notices  the  other  boy  in  the  corner  of  his  eye,   like  any  skilled  gunman  would.           “  -  don’t  think  there’s  a  two  player  mode,  on  this  one.  “          he  remarks,  turning  his  head  slightly.       otherwise,   he  stays  completely  still.           “  if  you  want,   you  can  hop  on  after  i  beat  my  high  score.   ”

        “stu macher,” his voice is deep, rich and honey sweet, that old transatlantic accent still as strong today as it was when it was contemporary. his expensive suit jacket smells like whiskey and cigarettes as he settles into the bar stool beside the other, a professional smile on his face as he slips effortlessly into the other’s space. “our cleopatra told me i just had to come and introduce myself to you -- she seems to think that we’ll get on like a house on fire.”         he orders a martini for him, and then for himself, turning his full attention to the other man. his aura is... messy, to say the least. he’s clearly sensitive, broken, mere moments from coming unhinged. but he’s dark, dark in that familiar, intriguing way, and while he isn’t sure of the other’s potential just yet, he sees in him exactly what liz saw -- one of them. “i’m james march -- i own this hotel.”
