Kyte Lochlann, the knight of long odds and little ends
First new artwork of 2014! One goal I definitely want to persue this year is pushing myself with more dynamic poses and perspectives (last year it was mostly colouring nad backgrounds).
And of course I want to refine my styleas well, so that I can find a good balance that I'm comfortable with when drawing my story. :)
I know I'm falling behind quite a bit on the pokedex challenge, but I really needed a break from drawing pokemon, so have something more personal.
Just Kyte being kind of worried and/or perplexed, I guess.
Little colouring practise again.
I have to say this is really damn close to the style I'm actually aiming for in my future comic, haven't been that pleased with a drawing in a while!
(Opinions and comments about the style are very welcome!)
Some expression and colouring practise (basically trying to see if I can make shitty sketchy lineart look sorta decent).
I'm actually quite pleased with the results. The coloured lineart was tricky, but definitely worth the effort, might use this again.
Playing around with a lineless style, still needs some imrovement though. Was fun to use nontheless.
Also: CLOAKS. I like character with cloaks, as if that wasn't really obvious already. :B

Started it as just a small sketch, but then decided to practise inking and colouring (I really wanted to draw some pretty eyes, hurr hurr)
For comparison, a similar portrait of Finley I did last September.
Quick little portrait of Finley. I have the feeling I'm getting a little more confident with my colouring and shading, plus I just really like the overall style. :D
