2 months ago i was sick for the third time this winter so i learned how to knit. learning new things is such an important part of my creative process. a new way to process things, makes me explore memories in a way that i couldn't before. this will eventually be patched together to make a blanket, inspired by the texas heat. the borders will read "cowboy on till / you find home". i'll see you in 8 months when i complete it lol

Juliana Beanie Super easy, soft and fun!

Yarn:  Malabrigo "Rasta", or another bulky yarn to get gauge. Needle:  size 15 circular needle, 16" long Gauge: 2 stitches per inch

Stitches: Double Twisted Rib (see attached for instructions) k2tog: Knit two stitches together

Pattern:

Cast on 40 stitches.  Join, being careful not to twist yarn. Knit 26 rounds in Double Twisted Rib  Row 27:  *knit 6 stitches in double twisted rib pattern, k2tog ; repeat to end of round (35 stitches remaining on needle) Row 28: *knit 5 stitches in double twisted rib pattern, k2tog, repeat to end of round (30 stitches remaining on needle) Row 29 *knit 4 stitches in double twisted rib pattern, k2tog, repeat to end of round (25 stitches remaining on needle) Cut yarn, leaving a 10 inch tail.  With a tapestry needly, run yarn through remaining 25 stitches and pull tight.  Tie off. Sew in yarn ends at beginning and end of hat.
