CHUNKY KNITS

Lo­cated on its name­sake is­land in Gal­way Bay, Ire­land, Inis Meáin draws in­spi­ra­tion from the isle’s land­scape and in­hab­i­tants. Tra­di­tional Aran stitch­ing is ex­e­cuted in the finest yarns to cre­ate mod­ern yet au­then­tic de­signs in colours in­spired by the land­scape of the is­land.

In this week’s look, Pierre is wear­ing the brand’s Storm Jacket, which is a per­fect ex­am­ple of the her­itage and crafts­man­ship that Inis Meain has been renowned for. Crafted from pure navy blue merino yarns, mak­ing it both durable and warm. Worn with a white tex­tured cot­ton shirt from Stenströms, cre­at­ing a mod­ern look where the storm jacket serves as a ca­sual al­ter­na­tive to the tai­lored blazer.

Here are some details about jacket construction and yarn mix. 🔹Jaket is worked top down (my preferred way) with shoulder seams since jacket is heavy. Stitches for sleeves have been picked up from armholes and worked top down too. 🔹For creating this yarn mix I used worsted wool yarn leftovers (50g and less) with noname cone semi wool yarn as a base. Base yarn is goes throughout the jacket and worsted weight yarn leftovers I've alternated every 2 rows. . The Ital­ian fash­ion brand Mau­r­izio Bal­das­sari was founded in the beau­ti­ful and af­flu­ent dis­trict of Brera, steeped in the fash­ion­able and cul­tural his­tory of Milan. This rich her­itage has in­flu­enced the brand’s com­mit­ment to using high-​​quality ma­te­ri­als and craft­ing el­e­gant, well-​​balanced de­signs.

In this week’s look, we in­tro­duce the brand’s mouline jacket, here crafted using a cream-​white cotton-​viscose blend called sum­mer mouline. The mixed fi­bres give the jacket a dry han­dle and along with the flex­i­ble knit add breatha­bil­ity. It’s a per­fect ca­sual al­ter­na­tive to the more for­mal blazer for an in­ti­mate din­ner party or sum­mer cel­e­bra­tion.
