I'm preparing my April knitting. For being very diligent I gave myself the reward of swatching this yarn. Before I swatched I made a hand-wound ball so I could fully appreciate the way it was dyed and the colors. Mitch wondered if I had asked them to dye it to go with my hair and why I was winding it by hand. I know what this is going to be. I am gathering the information so I can make it happen. Provlapps-labb! En (1) god anledning till att göra provlappar är att lista ut vilken grovlek på stickorna eller virknålen som passar garnet, dig och den look du är ute efter. Och du behöver ofta inte sticka eller virka så många varv innan du kan se och känna skillnaden i stuket. När du väl har bestämt dig bör du däremot kötta på med många varv, för att få ett bra masktäthetsprov. Eftersom det stod 3,5 mm på banderollen (jo, det är ett köpegarn) chansade jag på 5,5 mm, växlade till 6 mm, och gick sedan ned till 5 mm, vilket gränsade till garnplågeri. Men skillnaden mellan 5,5 och 6 mm var så dramatisk att jag måste sova på saken. Och se hur maskorna beter sig imorgon bitti. Efter ett uppfriskande bad.
