I guess you could say my knitting style is eclectic. I learned knitting English style (aka throwing) via my Grandma, but taught myself Continental style (aka picking) and use it almost exclusively now (though the way I hold my knitting is almost more in the Russian style). I use the Norwegian purl. And I use Portuguese knitting pins (or a safety pin when I lose them) to tension my knitting. I could just wrap it around the back of my neck, but I don't like that feeling, so I use the pin.

I can't be the only one that does things like this. I even use my knitting pin when I crochet. How do you knit? Do you have tricks you use?

One of my teenage kids said I looked like I was mauled because of my knitting pin and the cable needle I stuck in my hair made it look like my hair was torn out. 🤣🤣🤣

My style of knitting is called flicking. It’s a version of throwing/American knitting, but you never let go of the needles. Here’s a slow motion video to get you started flicking.

Apparently, I crochet like an English/American style knitter has decided to take up crocheting...which actually makes a lot of sense because that is exactly what I am.

Also, I have no idea how to narrow down my knitting style aside from Western and not continental because I honestly haven’t knitted in a while and don’t have any needles readily accessible to figure it out.
