JOKER got a congressional exception, he can only receive mail left a location, no signatures required or guaranteed by dates.

Due to a mutal respect, sewer, swamp and biological hazard habitat villains maintain proper and accessible and posted mailboxes. Due to a healthy respect of the postal service being the one government agency investigation bureau you don't want to piss off, everyone leaves those alone. (Amanda Waller has never once reported the villains in her black box, off books, off site prison. Their mail still shows up the next business day with no issue and is given to said inmates. If that's how her mail arrives too, she does not acknowledge it.)

I know it’s so so tempting to just glance at your phone when you’re stopped, but there’s actually something called “distraction hangover” where even once you put your phone down, your brain is still processing the interaction and isn’t fully paying attention to the road for up to 30 seconds afterwards. So it’s still really dangerous even if you’re stopped when you look at your phone. If you need to check something on your phone, pull over.

Fictional characters are objects.

They are not people. You cannot "objectify" them, because they have no personhood to be deprived of. They have no humanity to be erased. You cannot "disrespect" them, because they are not real.

Stop telling people to encourage the cop inside their head.

How you treat fictional characters, given they are entirely objects of fiction, does NOT necessarily speak to your own character, and you do not need to be "careful".

It is not dangerous to imagine dark things happening to fictional characters. It does not mean you are secretly a bad person. It does not mean you unconsciously want to hurt people in real life. It is not a "slippery slope" to doing bad things to people in real life. You cannot damage your brain or turn yourself into a bad person by consuming "dark" fanfic.

I can write tentacle noncon of my favorite character all day long and be a fierce anti-sexual assault advocate in real life because what I do in my head is not the same thing as what I do in real life.

Ok class, art literacy time. This image "Ceci n'est pas une pipe" (This is not a pipe) is meant to illustrate this exact lesson. A pipe is paraphernalia, a tool used to consume tobacco and drugs. Some places make it illegal to carry one on you. But this is AN IMAGE, not a pipe. It is art depicting a subject. You can have feelings about pipes and their use and risks but when you begin censoring art, you begin to surrender your freedoms as a human being.

A fictional story about a fictional person being abused is not abuse of an actual person. As uncomfortable as our society has become with so much as using the words for uncomfortable subjects is indicative of our society's slide towards fascism and puritanical repression. Art depicts life and, whether we as a society like it or not, abuse, domestic violence, rape, suicide, incest, child sexual abuse, addiction, homelessness, sex work and murder are all actual things that actually happen and most real life villains are never caught by the legal system. Burying discussions, censoring depictions and silencing artists only helps these villains.

You are allowed to dislike a subject and choose not to engage with media that depicts that subject. You do not get to villainize artists that produce art of the subject, you don't get to censor the words and images just because they make you uncomfortable and you certainly don't get to restrict production of that art.

A 'no questions asked' food pantry means no questions asked.

When we're stocking our pantry, we are not looking at a person's clothes or their accessories or what kind of car they drove there in. We are HAPPY to see it BEING USED AT ALL.

I don't know anyone's situation. Maybe they got that designer bag at a thrift shop. Maybe its a knockoff. Maybe it was a gift. Maybe they got it when they had money and now they don't have money. Maybe they're getting stuff for a friend.

Maybe they have plenty of money, don't need to be taking stuff from the pantry, but they are anyway because we said-

NO QUESTIONS ASKED.

Do you know what happens when someone takes from our pantry when they don't need it? We're down one item. But maybe they tell someone that the pantry is there. Or maybe they come back to it when they need it. Or maybe they throw a dollar in the donation box. Or maybe they put an item on the shelf. Or maybe they come to our food drive.

WE DONT CARE.

We don't care who used it.

We care that it was used.

Im not a cop. Don't make me do cop stuff, I wont do it.

financial abuse is an incredibly discreet and pervasive form of ‘no-marks’ abuse among otherwise “respectable and well-to-do” couples, ESPECIALLY single-income families or ones where only one spouse controls all the finances.

Remember how women couldn’t have their own bank accounts once? Even when they were finally allowed to have jobs? Who do you think handled their money, do you think?

There are STILL people living off “allowances” from their partner, and frankly it doesn’t always make ends meet.

I was told by someone who set up a nearby food pantry that literally THE MOST IMPORTANT thing was the number of bodies through the door. Reporting higher numbers of people who took food helped them keep access to the space they used, drum up further support, get more donations, etc.
