We got some updates of the levi levi’s!
The first is the female (2017), the older male (who is in shed, 2016), & the younger male (2017). They’re all from unrelated orange/ high red line crosses, which is great because as knobtail geckos are Australian, more of them cannot be exported, so it’s important to keep outcrossing the geckos in captivity to maintain a broad pool of unrelated animals for future generations. I don’t think any of the levi levi lines that do exist are as intensively line bred as some leopard gecko morphs would be, for example.
Their breeder has just started experimenting with this colour cross, so we can’t guess with much certainty how they’ll turn out, but it seems with some of the older geckos from this project, they actually turn quite lavender with age C: even the darkest patches on the older siblings were very purple. The younger male on the bottom looks like he’ll be very bright too!
They won’t be considered fully mature, or ready for breeding until they’re at least 2 years old, so we have quite a wait to see how they colour up, I’m so excited to collect them!
