*This spell involves a 1 inch ball made of any gem (I used rose quartz), a connection with a deity of wisdom/knowledge, and the palms of your hands.
Full disclosure, I don’t even know if these spells are actually called “enchantments”, it’s just what I’ve always called imbuing items with magical energies. This is also incredibly simple compared to most spells, but it’s along the lines of the kind of day-to-day craft I do.
Step 1: Have a cleansed round ball made up of any gem stone.
For this, I only had a rose quartz ball. It was originally meant to be a divining ball, but it arrived a lot smaller than expected because I couldn’t read.
Step 2: Invoke your deity.
My patron deity is Athena/Minerva, so this was already a no-brainer. If your patron has given you wisdom before but is not a deity of wisdom themselves, then you can still use them for this. However, I recommend invoking a god with a domain that includes knowledge, wisdom, or insight.
- Raise your crystal up towards the deity, with the ball resting in the middle of your cupped hands.
- Ask your deity to bless the ball and imbue it with knowledge. My request went something like this:
“Oh Great and Watchful Athena,
Bless this crystal
That it may contain within it fragments of your power
All the knowledge, wisdom, and success I will need.
Bless it that wisdom may come to me,
That this ball may allow completion and correction
Giving me the power to know all I need to know.
As you have endless power and knowledge,
Mercifully grant some knowledge unto me,
And unto this ball.”
Step 3: Rub the ball between your palms.
I did this as I was speaking to Minerva, but you can also do this afterwards. I know next to nothing about palmistry, but I assume that the very center of your palms is a magically powerful place, so in order to connect the knowledge within the ball to the knowledge within my brain and spirit, I massaged the ball into the grooves of my palms until I felt that it was full and connected to me.
Step 4: Roll it in a sigil shape over your test. (optional)
The whole reason I’m doing this spell is because I have an exam today. Now that the knowledge is between me and the crystal, I want to carry it with me and take the extra step of rolling it over my answer sheet in a pattern before I turn it in. In my mind, this will take the extra precaution of making sure that the energy within the ball gets applied to the test. I’m not going to recommend a specific sigil for this, since I’m creating one that came naturally to me during my kneading of the ball.
