Taller and Taller

Drabble Prompt: Growing Up

Characters: Tom, Sonic, Tails and Knuckles

After a few weeks Tom realizes that Sonic and Tails are too short for the seatbelts in the family car. So he has to buy them booster seats to sit on , which upsets Sonic a lot , but knuckles is just tall enough.

From then on the boys, prompted by Sonic, start keeping track of their hight on the kitchen door way. With dates and hight- which don't change dramatically but every little change makes them really excited.

Greenhills Heatwaves

Drabble Prompts: Seasons

Characters: Tom, Maddie, Sonic, Tails and Knuckles.

The first summer the boys are living with the Wachowski's they are hit was a massive heatwave, making the boys sick and very lethargic. Maddie and Tom are quick to put together a game plan together.

They buy 3 new cooling mats, and cool bed sheets for the boys beds, playing the mats in the living room for them to nap and relax on.

Tom buys a large kids paddling pool and sets it up in the backyard under tree shade, along with a new swing seat with a canopy for the him and maddie to sit on and watch over the boys.

Maddie bought a variety of cute and fun ice trays and lollipop molds, filling them with fresh fruit and water to make nice snacks for the boys to chew on.

Uncle Wade

Drabble Prompt: Responsibility

Characters: Wade Whipple, Knuckles, Maddie.

After a few weeks of them hanging out more, after the bowling tournament arc, Maddie pulls Wade aside to talk to him about his role in Knuckle's life. The two had been hanging out more often on the weekends or on Wades days off at the Wachowski house but Wade seems hesitant to let Knuckles hang out at his house.

Wade wants to be a good uncle figure to Knuckles but does worry he will mess up because he doesn't know how to look after himself, let alone a kid. So, Maddie put him on ‘babysitting’ duty a few times on weekends to help him learn what the boys like and how to care for kids.

Now Knuckles looks forward to his weekend sleepovers at Uncle Wades, even Sonic and Tails stay over sometimes, watching old movies, 'training' and going bowling.

A Mothers connection

Drabble prompt: connections

Characters: Knuckles and Maddie

He has a lot of respect for Maddie, with his own mother being the tribe's healer and priest he finds a lot of similarities in the two of them; both act as moral guides for the younger members of their tribes, both take care of their tribe's health and both are natural leaders.

He naturally finds himself spending early morning sat outside with her talking about his dreams, what he fears and asking for advice.

Even though she died when he was still young he says that she would have been good friends with Maddie. This obviously made her cry.
