there’s a slow, exaggerated roll of koa’s eyes as calvin cleans the cut on his cheek, his face still stained with blood from the hockey match. it feels like they always end up like this - - koa restless in the of adrenaline of a win ( or more rarely, a loss ), and calvin steady, careful, and gentle with his touch. they’ve fallen so seamlessly into this routine that koa almost looks forward to his injuries because it means he can see calvin. “i swear, there’s more to hockey than fighting,” he hums, gaze lingering on calvin ( and heart stuttering over how close they are ) “why don’t you come watch next time?” he tests the waters, eyes not leaving the other as a smile curves onto his lips, “i’ve got a ticket with your name on it…and i’d love to see you wearing my jersey.” maybe it was too much, but koa had to try.
