Oh that's... That's horrifying. I always wondered why Kode was called that but this....

Fitz is good at coding on Anathema. He's scared he'll only be remembered for that because no one on this planet actually knows him. Tobin basically confirms this and even calls him "code-boy". Generations later the remembered version of him goes by "Kode".

What a metaphor for the depersonalisation corporations bring.

Also do you think Kode even knows he's supposed to like playing music??? And that the reason he's good at coding is because on this planet it was similar playing music??????

Fitz didn't have his guitar, people clearly don't see him as the music guy, but that's such a key part of who he is.... Do you think that just got erased because all people around him saw was what he could contribute to Anathema??

Also can we talk about the fact that Fitz was so scared that who he was would get watered down, and changed into something unrecognisable each time he was remembered due to no one actually knowing him on Anathema... And then the Doctor recognises Kode just from the way he says one sentence. I'm sobbing.
