the corn scene didn't having anything to do with race? it was the corn grown by the gardeners so it belonged to them? there is no need to 'pull the race card' in a situation like that so it kinda makes sense for her to tell her to stop. What i think, though, is that it was unnecessary to even have the writers bring up race in that scene as it was nothing to do with race; it was about who could have the corn, so i think that bringing it up in that context was the main mistake
