I just found the mini diaries I typed up regarding Orientation week at my US host college this time last year
I cannot stop laughing
Whatever was I on when I was writing this
“Where are the French guys?” “Well, we are European. Perhaps they assume ‘free movement of persons’ still works here in America,” I say, as the Europeans laugh. Our CAP leader, puzzled, ultimately resorts to holding his head in his hands. (I do hope our antics over the past week have not seriously affected his blood pressure.)
Whilst we keep him going, we realise that we are not entirely too sure where les garçons actually are. Our CAP leader looks pleadingly at the French girls, and they pull out their mobiles and rapidly type in French. The boys eventually appear, and after a quick translation it transpires that they were lost. Watching the sigh of relief that seems to sag from his entire body, I begin to wonder whether we haven’t harmed our CAP leader’s blood pressure after all.
